Disappointing results for both Spokane and Portland. Now we get another week of delusional SaberCat fans who are in denial that their team pays under the table.
I guess the only good thing is bills possibly trolling the Cat fans, since he's good at that stuff.

He is literally the worst trash talker I have ever seen!

Damn, Arenafan has the SJ/AZ game on ESPNews and the PHL/JAX on CBSSN. Do they show ESPNews games on ESPN3 at all? I don't get ESPNews, but sometimes games are streamed on ESPN3 also. Won't be able to see the PHL/JAX game, so that sucks for me.
Any of you guys care about who wins the Arena Bowl now? I have the probably very unpopular hope that SJ wins it this year, but anyone besides Arizona winning it yet again is fine by me. Soul over the Sharks preferably for me.

He is literally the worst trash talker I have ever seen! Not as bad as SabercatMatt. That guy's just an idiot. He over-uses his exclamation points. It makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine flew off the handle because her boyfriend didn't use enough of them. If anything I'll be rooting for the Sharks or the Soul to win the ArenaBowl. Lesser of two evils, I think.

I have never really dealt with him. bills uses personal insults and thinks that makes him look smart. for someone who claims to be a huge arena fan, he really does not know all that much about the game, at least figuratively speaking. he also does not understand that comparing 24 seasons of the Rattlers to 2 seasons of the Thunder is like comparing apples to oranges. Nothing alike. of course, he is also convinced the Thunder will not be around next season despite the fact that anyone who knows anything will tell you that Emmert is too stubborn to give up on the team. I would think I want Jacksonville, so I could remind people that the Thunder beat them by 24 points!

Okay, thanks DiamondThief. Hopefully I'm able to see at least one of the Conference championship games...
Yeah, and that's the worst part of teams who are able to buy players. It disillusions the other team's fans, the ones that care enough to pay enough attention and makes them lose interest in the league, season, the team, etc. That's the worse part about it and hurts the league the most if the other fans stop caring. Can't have it where only the same few teams are able to compete year in and year out.

I believe there are prospective owners out there who may be turned off by the under-the-table pay which the league is allowing to happen. Going after the Power last year was one thing, but letting certain marquee teams get away with it is only hurting the league. That's a huge reason why I respect the Shock's owner. He is talking about this. Other owners need to make it an issue and force the league to deal with it. It will be a black mark, but if they get past it, then it would attract new, fresh ownership. The league is only shooting itself in the foot by ignoring it.

The league is only shooting itself in the foot by ignoring it. I have no insight on how it impacts potential owners (well, I don't have any insight really...), but it seems like the league has always had problems finding competent owners who know has to be done, nor does it seem like the league offices are able to help them at all in directing what they need or should be doing ownership-wise. With the finances like they are I feel like that will always be a problem getting people willing to risk their money to be a part of the AFL (and probably lose money the way it is now). How much the buying of players affects it, I don't know. To me it hurts fan's interest the most like you guys and the Spokane fans and guys like VooDooNut. Although most of the casual fans that show up to games probably won't be very aware of stuff like this, they will want to at least see good, fun, and competitive games, and shockingly, games that they win at home every now and again. If you have it where they're getting blown out continually, then the casual fans won't want to come anymore regardless if they know what's going on or not.

It is hurting the league. It reminds me of how David Stern used to run the NBA. He would promote a few teams and let the others fend for themselves. There was no parity in television appearances nor revenue among teams. There still is not. The AFL is becoming a lot more that way. I would not want to see that happen.

Didn't know where to post this instead, and probably won't get anything, but yep, since I don't get ESPNews can't watch the AZ/SJ conference championship game because they won't show it on WatchESPN without subscription to the channel. So can't watch either of the conference championship game this weekend. Stinks, but oh well, and no one here probably cares much about not being able to see AZ/SJ with everything that goes on with those 2 teams. Ha.

To be honest, it reminded me of what Arena Football used to be before the league re-launched in 2010 and (I think) it's one of the best games that's been played in the last few years. However, it was bittersweet knowing both those teams pay their players under the table, which kind of ruined things for me. My feelings are mixed on it. On one hand, I love the fact Arizona won't get the chance to contend for a 4th consecutive ArenaBowl. On the other, it's $an Jo$e that made it, and that makes me automatically root for the winner of Jacksonville/Philadelphia to win the title.

I don't have any team that I'm personally connected to and fully root for, so I don't have as strong feelings about stuff like that, though I don't like it going on either. I mostly just like good strong franchises and of course good games to watch and get excited about. Guess sounds like it was a good game to watch though I wasn't able to see any of it. Though the people in the Arenafan chat kept going on how the refs were calling everything in AZ favor/being paid off, so don't know how the refs allied the game affected the gameplay, but I just left the chat sometime after halftime.
