Here are a couple of my thoughts about the schedule.

* For the second straight season, the Blazers have a seven-game homestand. This year it goes from January 20 to February 4.

* Late February to early March is going to be brutal. From February 27 to March 20, the Blazers play 13 games with 11 of them on the road.

* That stretch I just mentioned above includes a six-game road trip.

* The Blazers have 18 back-to-backs.

Nov. 11 vs. Spurs - LaMarcus Aldridge
Dec. 1  vs. Mavericks - Wesley Matthews
Dec. 12  vs. Knicks - Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo
Jan. 29 vs Hornets - Nicolas Batum

Finally, no Blazers game on my birthday.

That six game road trip is going to be brutal and all those road games in that span of time will be tough. We play the Thunder at home on my birthday. I think we played them at home on Kasey's birthday last season.

We play the Suns at home on my birthday. I am pretty much of the mindset that the schedule does not matter. We still play the Eastern Conference teams twice each, our division opponents four times, and the rest of the games are three or four against the other teams in the Western Conference. We have four eastern/midwest road trips.

As far as the games against former Blazers new teams, I am most looking forward to the Hornets and seeing Batum again. I am done with the Aldridge saga. I am also pretty sure that Matthews and Lopez knew of Aldridge's decision before July 3 as Olshey said since heir agreements with their new teams came on July 2. Matthews was in for the money and I guess Lopez was too, but I can at least see the benefit of him being close to his twin brother. Knowing that makes it a little more easy to swallow.
