#96 - BEN COMPTON (DL)
A 6'4" 280-lb. defensive lineman for the Screaming Eagles, Ben Compton, Jr. is a force on the defensive line. During his junior and senior seasons at Northern Illinois, he recorded 48 total tackles. He began his college career at Monroe College in New York. During his sophomore season, he had 9.5 sacks, as well at 59 tackles and 17 tackles for a loss.
This season with the Screaming Eagles, Compton has played in five of seven games this season. is the co-leader in sacks with 2.0. He leads the team in tackles for a loss with 3.5. He also has 7.5 total tackles, a pass break up and a fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown in the Screaming Eagles' April 14 contest against the Arizona Rattlers.

Recently, he took a few moments to answer our questions:
1. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in football so far?
My greatest football achievement was earning a full scholarship to Northern Illinois from out of my junior college Monroe Community College.
2. What were your first impressions of Project FANchise and the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles?
I thought the idea was interesting to see and be a part of.
3. What was it that made you want to come to Utah and to earn a roster spot on the team?
I came all the way out here to Utah to in hopes of earning an NFL contract. another reason was to prove something to the people who doubt me and don't want me to succeed
4. Who has inspired you the most in your football career and in life?
My biggest inspiration has to be my high school football coach he pushed me to do football and through football I made it to college
5. What is your biggest long-term goal for your football career?
My biggest long term for my football career would be being able to not just provide for my family but to provide for my community through donations and charities.
6. What would you like to accomplish this season?
I'd like to make the all league team and defensive player of the year
7. What are you looking forward to most about being a Screaming Eagle?
I’m looking forward to be part of the first fan ran football team
8. What would you like Screaming Eagles and IFL fans to know about you?
I want them to know to never give up on your dreams and ignore the naysayers. A lot of people told me I was good and those same people get to watch me play on TV.
