The following is the complete schedule for the 2018 AFL season.
The league's 31st Season will kick off Friday, April 13th with the latest entry "Leonsis Bowl," aka the battle between the Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade, both of which are expansion teams owned by Washington Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics owner Ted Leonsis. The Valor won the season series 3-1, but the Brigade were the team to make the playoffs.
The 2018 regular season will consist of a four team league and play a 12 game schedule over 13 weeks. Baltimore and Washington will play a split home & away schedule (6 home/6 away), while Albany will see the most home games (7 Home/5 away) and Philadelphia will see the most road games (5 Home/7 away).
This is the third consecutive year in which the AFL has reduced games in the regular season. In 2016, the AFL reduced its games from 18 to 16 games due to the reduction of teams. That trend continued in 2017, with the AFL reducing its games from 16 to 14. The last time the AFL season consisted of 12 games was in 1995, which featured 13 franchises.
The AFL will also see significant changes to its playoff format. The league will base its 2018 playoffs similar to Major League Soccer, formatted in a two-game Home and Home Playoff Series. The highest seed for each matchup will have the option to pick their home date in the series. If the same team wins both playoff games, they will advance to ArenaBowl XXXI. If the series ends in a 1-1 tie, the team with the highest aggregate score will advance. If the scores are tied at the end of the 2nd game, they will play an overtime quarter to determine which team advances. The host of ArenaBowl XXXI will be awarded to the team with the highest overall average attendance.
Each week's games will appear most recent at the top of the post. Final results will be updated following the conclusion of the games and listed in ascending order. All game times are listed in the Pacific Timezone and are subject to change. Where applicable, click on the final score to view the AFL's game tracker for the complete box score.
CBS Sports Network will televise 12 Regular Season games and 4 postseason games, including ArenaBowl XXXI. Fans will also be able to watch games via Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Facebook, and Xbox.
