DES MOINES, IA - Lorenzo Brown through for 241 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Sioux Falls Storm improved to 2-1 with a 52-40 win over the Iowa Barnstormers today. The Barnstormers fell to 2-1.
The Storm are perfect in three-plus seasons against the Barnstormers, having won all eight of the teams' meetings, including seven regular season games.

After each team missed a field goal try, the Barnstormers scored what would be the only points of the opening quarter on a 4-yard run from quarterback Drew Powell.
The Storm struck on the second play of the second quarter on Brown's 7-yard pass to a leaping Brandynn Clark. It was Clark's first reception of the season and it knotted the game at 7-7. The Storm took the lead on a 5-yard pass to the left side to Mike Tatum with 4:17 left in the first half. Cody Barber drew the Barnstormers to within 14-10 on a 33-yard field goal with 48 seconds left in the first half. Sioux Falls came back on Brown's 11-yard run just 33 seconds later. Just two plays later, Powell went deep left to Brady Roland for a 34-yard score, and the Storm's lead was cut to 21-17 by halftime.

Barber's extra point tied the game at 24-24. Marques Rogers went around the left side and broke two tackles for the 16-yard touchdown, and the Storm led once again. Donavan Williams scored his first touchdown in a Barnstormer uniform on the very next offensive play, a 3 yard run in which he dove into the end zone around the right side. The quarter ended in a 31-31 tie.

Sioux Falls extended it's lead to 45-34 on a 7-yard strike from Brown to Judd Harrold, who had five touchdown catches in the Storm's 70-33 win over the Cedar Rapids Titans in week 3. The Barnstormers drew to within five points when Powell scampered into the end zone from 7 yards out with 1:25 left in regulation. The Barnstormers tried a two-point conversion, but Powell's pass intended for Balentine sailed over his head. Iowa went for the onside kick and recovered, but the Barnstormers were offsides and Sioux Falls was awarded the ball at the spot of recovery, which was the Iowa 14-yard line. Brown sealed the win when he found Clark open in the right corner of the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown.

Brown went 22 of 26 to go with his 241 yards and 4 scores, and also scored once on the ground. Lyle McCombs ran 4 times for 20 yards. Tatum was solid, catching 8 passes for 90 yards and a score. He also rushed for a touchdown. Clark tallied the first 6 receptions of his career with two of them going for touchdowns. He finished with 58 yards. Harrold caught 5 passes for 54 yards and a score. Chris Martin's 6 total tackles and sack led the way for the Storm defense.
Powell threw for 111 yards on 9 of 19 passes, a touchdown and an interception. He made his impact on the ground, however, rushing 18 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns. Williams had 36 yards on 8 carries to go along with his rushing touchdown. Roland had 4 receptions for 65 yards and a score, while Balentine caught 3 balls for 30 yards. Bryce Enyard led the way for the Barnstormers with 7.5 total tackles and a pair of pass break ups.
