CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The Nebraska Danger held off a second have surge by the Cedar Rapids Titans to come away with a 50-41 win and remain the Indoor Football League's only undefeated team after week 4, at U.S. Cellular Center tonight.
The Titans fell to 1-3 on the season. The teams met in the IFL season opener in week 1 with the Danger coming out on top, 44-31.

Nebraska got on the board first when quarterback Damien Fleming plunged in from a yard out. Brad Hatfield's extra point try hit the crossbar and the Danger led 6-0 with 4:14 left in the opening quarter. They added to that lead when Myke Tavarress recovered a fumble by Titans' quarterback Jake Meldock in the end zone. It appeared Medlock's arm was going forward on a pass attempt, but the Titans did not review the play.
The Titans got on the board on Marquel Wade's one handed catch in the left side of the end zone. Medlock drifted to his left on the play and lofted the pass to Wade for the touchdown. On the Danger's next offensive play, Fleming found Eric Thomas on a 28-yard bomb into the end zone to add to their lead at 20-7 with 11:38 left in the second quarter. The Titans came right back on their very next play on a 35-yard pass from Medlock to Wade. The play was nearly called back by an illegal pick penalty, but the Titans challenged and the penalty was erased. The Danger's lead was cut to 20-13. The Danger scored on their next drive, a 6-yard strike from Fleming to running back Angelo Pease. The score capped a nine-play, 7:19 drive of 43 yards. Medlock rushed it in from 2 yards with 53 seconds left. Nebraska drove and attempted a 41-yard field goal as time expired but, while Hatfield. kick had plenty of length, it was just wide to the right.

The Danger were penalized 9 times for 71 yards, while the Titans were flagged 6 times for 39 yards. The Titans, behind the arm of Medlock, outgained the Danger in the passing game, holding an advantage of 221 yards to 121 yards. Nebraska rushed for 75 yards, while Cedar Rapids had just four. The Titans won their first two challenges of the game, one which preserved a touchdown and the other which prevented a Danger score.
Fleming completed 14 of 21 passes for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns, while rushing 9 times for 34 yards and a touchdown. Pease scored a touchdown each on the ground and through the air. Dent finished with 5 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown, while Thomas had 4 catches for 40 yards and a score. Tavita Faaiu recorded 3 sacks, 4 tackles for loss and a forced fumble to lead the Danger defense. Ra'Shawde Myers and Xzavie Jackson each recovered a fumble.
Medlock was impressive, even in the loss. He finished 18 of 32 for 243 yards and 5 touchdowns, He also rushed for a touchdown. In his first game with the Titans, Wade had 6 receptions for game-highs of 82 yards and 3 touchdowns. Connor Hollenbeck caught 6 passes for 69 yards and two scores, while Jordan Smith recorded 5 catches for 68 yards. Cedric Dozier was all over the field and led the Titans' defense with 6 total tackles, and Ricarlo Bell registered a sack.
The Danger will visit the Arizona Rattlers on March 24 with a kickoff set for 5:05 p.m. pacific (7:05 p.m. central). The Titans will host the Iowa Barnstormers on March 24 with kickoff set for 5:05 p.m. (7:05 central).
