PHOENIX, AZ - The Arizona Rattlers jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter lead and never looked back as they earned their sixth win of the Indoor Football League season tonight at Talking Stick Resort Arena, over the Green Bay Blizzard.
Arizona improved to a league-best 6-1 record with the 65-33 win. Green Bay fell to 0-6 with the loss.
The Rattlers got on the board on their first drive of the game when Jeff Ziemba found Jamal Miles for a 14-yard touchdown. The Blizzard drew even on Jerome Jones' 23-yard touchdown pass from Bryan Hicks. The Rattler went ahead 13-6 on a one-yard run from Dylan Peebles, and extended their lead to 20-6 on a seven-yard touchdown strike from Ziemba to Anthony Amos.
B.J. Hill's 50-yard kickoff return drew the Blizzard to within a touchdown with 15:52 to go in the second quarter. Sawyer Petre then connected on a 36-yard field goal and the Rattlers lead was 23-13. Ziemba once again found Miles, this time for four yards, giving the Rattlers a 30-13 lead heading into halftime.
The Blizzard opened the second half with a 10-yard rush from Serge Trezy, but the Rattlers struck back on a pair of touchdowns; a 37-yard run by Darrell Monroe and a two-yard run from Peebles. Hill provided some life for the Blizzard with his second kickoff return for touchdown in the game, of 58 yards. Monroe scored on a one-yard run to put the Rattlers up 52-27 with 7:15 left in the third quarter. That score would stand heading into the fourth.
Jarrod Harrington scored for the Rattlers on a one-yard run, and the Rattlers were up 59-27. Hicks' two-yard run brought the Blizzard to within 26 points before the Rattlers scored with seven seconds left on Peebles' 11-yard pass from Verlon Reed, Jr.
Hicks made his first start at quarterback for the Blizzard, which had made a coaching change over their three weeks off. Green Bay let go head coach Chris Williams and named Corey Roberson interim head coach. The Blizzard had byes in weeks 6 and 7 of the season, and their game against Cedar Rapids last week was canceled due to inclement weather in the northern region of the Midwest.
The Rattlers held an advantage in total offense, 314 yards to 227 for the Blizzard. The difference cam in the rushing game, where they held a 161 yards to 76 edge. The Blizzard were flagged 11 times for 61 yards, while the Rattlers committed just a pair of penalties for 20 yards.
Ziemba completed 10 of 17 passes for 101 yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception. Reed, who had not seen action since week 1 due to injury completed 8 of 10 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Monroe rushed 12 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns, while Peebles rushed 5 times for 18 yards and two scores. Peebles also had 4 receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. Miles led the Rattlers in receiving with 9 receptions for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Keith Trumps's 6.5 total tackles paced Arizona's defense, and Nathan Lindsey recovered a Blizzard fumble.

Brandon Boudreaux and Robert Metz let the Rattlers with 7 total tackles apiece. Boudreaux also has a sack and 2 tackles for loss. Akim Francis recorded an interception for the Green Bay defense.
