DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Barnstormers outscored the Green Bay Blizzard 26-10 in the second half to improve to 5-2 on the Indoor Football League season tonight at the Wells Fargo Arena.
With the loss, the Blizzard fell to 0-7.
After B.J. Hicks' fumble recovery gave the Blizzard the ball, a scrambling Bryan Hicks hit Chris Malott on a 44-yard bomb to give the Blizzard a 7-0 early lead. The Barnstormers struck back when Grant Rohach found a leaping Ryan Balentine for the 11-yard touchdown.
The Barnstormers took a 13-7 lead on Rohach's six-yard touchdown pass to Sheldon Augustine. Iowa defensive back Bryce Enyard picked off Hicks and returned it 32 yards for the touchdown to give the Barnstormers a two-touchdown lead. With the Barnstormers driving in their own territory, Rohach was intercepted by Darrius Sims, who returned it 15 yards for the touchdown. The Blizzard completed the two-point conversion as the holder, Levi Copelin, took the snap, rolled to the right and found the kicker, Jordan Endries. The Barnstormers led at halftime, 20-15.
Iowa went up 26-15 on a two-yard run by Augustine early in the third quarter. Jerome Jones' two-yard run drew the Blizzard to within four points at 26-22 with 7:11 left in the third. Brady Roland's 19-yard touchdown pass from Rohach put the Barnstormers up 33-22 at the 4:38 mark of the quarter.
Balentine's three-yard pass from Rohach gave the Barnstormers a 40-22 lead early in the fourth quarter. Iowa added to that on Rohach's three-yard run with 2:26 left in the fourth.Jordan Endries closed out the scoring with a 51-yard field goal with 30 seconds left.
Enyard recorded two interceptions for the second straight week. He leads the IFL with 7 interceptions.
The Barnstormers held a slight edge in total offense, 186 yards to 169. That included an 85 yards to 16 advantage in the rushing game. The Blizzard had 153 passing yards to the Barnstormers' 101. Green Bay was penalized 11 times for 72 yards, while the Barnstormers were flagged just twice for five yards.
Rohach was 10/16 for 123 yards with 4 touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed 11 times for 52 yards and a score. Augustine, who rushed for a touchdown, caught 3 balls for 47 yards and a touchdown. Roland had 3 receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown, while Balentine scored on both of his receptions while accumulating 14 receiving yards. Enyard lead the Barnstormers defensive unit with 8 total tackles and 2 interceptions. Rocky Hayes tallied 7.5 total tackles and Dvonn Brown recorded a sack.

Andre McDonald caught 3 passes for 34 yards, while Jereme Jones had 2 catches for 28 yards. Jones also rushed for a touchdown. Robert Metz paced the Blizzard defense with 6 total tackles and a sack. Darrius Sims had an interception.
The Barnstormers will visit the Sioux Falls Storm on May 5 with a 5:05 p.m. pacific (7:05 p.m. central). The Blizzard will be at home against the Nebraska Danger on May 5. Kickoff in that one is set for 5:05 p.m. pacific (7:05 p.m. central).
