Although it's not a formal announcement, the Spokane Empire have unveiled the final designs for the team's uniforms for its inaugural season in the IFL.
The Empire "previewed" their new uniforms on social media, featuring three sets of jerseys, two helmets, and two pants. The team has not designated what will be their home jersey, but the the positional alignment suggests the team will go with coal black as its primary and the engine orange as the alternate. It's interesting to note that the team has coal black and white pants, but no engine orange pants for a solid orange look.
Helmet wise, the Empire will have a matte coal black helmet and a white helmet. Both helmets will feature the new "S" design with the railroad spike through the middle. The white helmet with the orange facemask appears to be the one carryover from the team's identity as the Shock, albeit a different logo. In total, the Empire will have a total of 12 uniform combinations through a 16 game schedule.
It's worth noting that the pictures do not show the right side of the helmet, but pictures taken by head coach Adam Shackleford on Facebook suggest they will go with a similar helmet layout that the Shock had since 2013, with the secondary logo on the right side of the helmet and the player's number on the left side.
The Empire will retain its Russell Athletic contract from its days in the AFL. The organization has used uniforms made by Russell Athletic since the 2008 af2 season.
