Since I'm in high school now I thought I would ask this.
I play softball. I would like to try out for track as a sprinter but I don't think I could do it and play softball at the same time.

Coming from a town that prides itself on being called "The City of Good Sports" we were encouraged to get out there and play as much sport as we could. I ended up playing Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL (Australian Rules Football), Tennis, Cricket, Golf, Basketball and also represented my school in Hockey, Track and Softball. My favourite of all sports though is snowboarding. Oh and I'm a very very average surfer!!

My mum is actually right into sport and back in her day used to be fairly handy at basketball so I'm guessing that's where I get it from. For as long as I remember its been a big part of my life.

I did not know there were so many surfers out there. Looks like Julie might have some competition!
It is not for my school but I have also been doing tae kwon do for about eight years.

Growing up I played a bit of everything, mostly basketball, AFL (Australian Rules Football) and track & field. Still currently play basketball and AFL.

What sport is it closest to? Is it a combination of any sports I might be familiar with?

It is close to rugby and American football with the tackling aspect, but there is no throwing the ball, so there is a lot of running, kicking and marking (catching). There are 2 small posts and 2 big posts at each end of the ground, scoring 6 points if you kick the ball through the big posts and 1 point through the small posts. The ground is the shape of an oval

Scouts often go over to America searching for talent. They had a combine in LA earlier this year, and an ex college basketball player actually got a contract with a team!
