I don't know if someone else in here posted about this topic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since I think most of us Blazers fans in here do not like Terry Stotts as our head coach, I'm looking at every good coach out there who was fired by their respective teams. Since David Blatt was recently fired by the Cleveland Cavaliers, what does everyone else think of him? Do you think he'll make a good coach for the Blazers? The following are his credentials as a head coach:
-Euroleague champion (2014) -Euroleague Coach of the Year (2014) -4× Israeli League Coach of the Year (1996, 2002, 2011, 2014) -6× Israeli Cup champion (2002, 2003, 2011–2014) -5× Israeli League champion (2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2014) -FIBA EuroChallenge champion (2005) -Russian Super League Coach of the Year (2005) -Italian League champion (2006) -Italian Cup champion (2007) -Adriatic League champion (2012) -Russian Federation Order of Friendship award recipient (2014)

i had read a piece saying that Blatt could go to Brooklyn replace Lionel Hollins, Minnessota could hire him since Sam Mitchell has not been all that great with the Timberwolves or that the Lakers could hire him since they're not impressed with Byron Scott.
the Blazers are married to Stotts at this point. the organization loves him so i really don't think they will be looking to replace him at this point. they're going to give him three or four years with this new group to see if he can make them a contender.
glad to see you back around here!

Thanks!! My participation in this forum hasn't been very consistent due to work, but I'm doing the best that I could. Anyway, I was writing this when I was disappointed at how the team could have won games that they should have won, but ended otherwise. I forgot that at that point, we were like 35-40 games yet into the NBA season and a lot of things could still happen. As of now, we are sitting safely at the 8, unless we do bad again, and either the Jazz or Kings (or the Nuggets or Pelicans) play good, and we get knocked-off again.

I'm sorry, but you are very wrong. I am a big fan of Stotts. Have you see what he has this team doing this season? Granted we could've overachieved, but still. 2 games under .500, and in a playoff spot. That's incredible given what happened over the summer. Stotts' coaching also helped us with our first playoff series win in 14 years.

He has done a better job than I thought he would. His first season was practically a disaster. He has gotten better.

He has done a better job than I thought he would. His first season was practically a disaster. He has gotten better. Any time you have a new coach, they need an adjusting period, of at least 3-4 years to get the talent in order and his system underway and bought into. Firing a coach within 1 1/2 years is absurd (ie David Blatt). There's just no patience anymore for any coach. A lot of Celtics fans actually wanted Brad Stevens gone, but now he's got his team vying for the 3rd seed in the competitive East with no legitimate star.... The coach just needs time.
