Now that the Screaming Eagles have their name, Project FANchise is on to its next step. Choosing its colors.
As David reported on April 20, the Salt Lake City ownership is a group called Project FANchise, a startup company based out of Santa Monica, CA. Its investors include veteran tech entrepreneurs as well as former NFL executives and players.
The team was announced at an Indoor Football League press conference on April 21.
Project FANchise is a unique organization that will attempt to bridge the gap between fantasy sports, video games, and live sports. It'll be the first fan-run organization in all of professional sports. Its mobile app will encourage fans to become involved in team decisions, from interviewing and hiring the team's General Manager, Head Coach, coaching staff, and influencing which players to sign and cut on the final roster. The fans will also have a say in the design of the team's logo, their name, their uniforms, the mascot, and the merchandise. The group will also allow fans to analyze game film and offer input to the coaching staff. Fans will even have the power as to call actual plays during the course of a game.
The choosing of the color scheme is its next step. The following tweet by uniformsawg tells us that voting is open through the end of June 12. The official vote will most likely be determined by votes through the Project FANchise app.
There are four color scheme options:
1. Camo (a military reference given that the team is named for the 101st Airborne Division, the renowned light infantry division of the U.S. Army that trained for air assault operations during World War II).
2. Purple and Gold (think the NFL's Minnesota Vikings)
3. Yellow and Blue (think the NFL's Los Angeles Rams)
4. Silver and Black (think the NFL's Oakland Raiders)
Project FANchise anticipates announcing the new color scheme for the Screaming Eagles later this month.
