Welcome to SCtoC's week 3 presentation of the 2016 college football season.
We've rolled out a couple of new aspects to this thread:
The first is a link to the radio broadcasts of each game. In our game previews, this will appear in the "Radio" line. At the bottom of the page, radio links for each game will appear in the schedule in our Other SCtoC Games This Week section. This will enable our readers to listen to one game, watch another, and comment here.
The second new item appears in our poll section and will allow our members to select the game(s) we will feature the following week. You vote, we will preview it, and we can follow those games the next weekend (NOTE: At the time of this posting, some times of Week 4 games have yet to be determined. The poll will be posted once those times become available).
We are featuring two games with the top two teams in the Pac-12's North Division over the past six years, and you won't even have to change the channel. First up are the Oregon Ducks who visit Lincoln to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Our second game consists of the powerhouse Stanford Cardinal hosting the USC Trojans. Both games should be highly competitive and both will be televised on ABC.
We will feature a brief preview and invite our members and readers to join the conversation as we follow each game.

Former Oregon St. Beavers head coach Mike Riley is in his second year with Nebraska. Riley coached the Beavers 14 seasons in total, meeting the Ducks in 14 Civil War games. Oregon and Nebraska played on national television in 1953 (the game was held in Portland) with the Ducks coming away with a 20-12 win.
USC TROJANS at STANFORD CARDINAL

Stanford: The Cardinal are 1-0 and coming off a bye week after a 26-13 win over Kansas St. in their season opener on Sept. 3. When speaking about Stanford this season, you start with Christian McCaffrey. Last year's Heisman runner-up is the focal point of the offense and special teams. He had 22 carries for 126 yards and touchdowns in the opener. He also caught a team-high 7 passes, amassing 40 yards. Reshirt senior Ryan Burns was excellent in his first college start, completing 14 of 18 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. He completed his first eight passes in the game. Michael Rector is the main receiving threat, having caught 4 balls for 73 yards and a score. Official Roster.
Notes: Stanford has appeared in three out of the last four Rose Bowls after having earned the Pac-12 title. They won two of those games. Glenn "Pop" Warner, the inspiration for Pop Warner Football, coached Stanford from 1924-32. Stanford has featured the Heisman Trophy runner-up in four of the last seven seasons (McCaffrey, Toby Gerhart and Andrew Luck twice). USC has an all-time record of 813-333-54, good for a 70 percent win percentage. Seventeen Trojans have won the Heisman Trophy. Due to tradition, the Trojans and the Cardinal face one another each season, rather than a cycle where they would not play two out of six seasons.
