September 23, 2016 -- Could Trail Blazers guard Pat Connaughton fill in at QB for the NFL's New England Patriots for a week?
With Patriots quarterback Tom Brady still suspended for week 4 (he is set to return in week 5), and his backups Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett injured, New England is definitely in emergency mode.
Connaughton could be the cure to what ails the Patriots for the week. The 6'5" second year guard out of Notre Dame was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, as well as the Blazers. A pitcher in baseball, Connaughton could be more athletic than any of the three QB's on the Patriots' roster.
"I can be Tom Brady with a little more athleticism.. Got the arm and the body type," Connaughton said.
Judging from this vine on his instagram account from a couple months ago, he could be right.

Connaughton is from Arlington, Massachusetts; not far from where the Partiots play, and is a fan of the team. He averaged 1.1 points and nearly a rebound per game in limited action as a rookie for the Blazers during his rookie season.

This is awesome. I knew he was athletic, but I never imagined he could throw a football that far!

With Bill Belichick, I would rule nothing out. At least Patty-C would not be playing with deflated balls!
