Welcome to SCtoC's week 5 presentation of the 2016 college football season.
We've recently rolled out a couple of new aspects to this thread:
The first is a link to the radio broadcasts of each game. In our game previews, this will appear in the "Radio" line. We will preview the Boise St.- New Mexico St. game, which will be Friday, Oct. 7 wince it is the only game of our coverage teams scheduled on that evening. The vote on this thread is for the second game of our week 8 coverage; the options for which are being played on Saturday, Oct. 8 (note that some times of those games are yet to be announced).
We are previewing two games this weekend. Both feature the Pac-12 North's top two teams over the past several years, each headed to the Evergreen State to forge their respective battles. On Friday, Sept 30, the Stanford Cardinal are in Seattle to face the Washington Huskies. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 1, The Oregon Ducks travel to Pullman to match up against the Washington St. Huskies.
We will feature a brief preview and invite our members and readers to join the conversation as we follow each game.
STANFORD CARDINAL at WASHINGTON HUSKIES
Date: September 30, 2016.
Time: 6 p.m. (PT).
Place: Husky Stadium; Seattle, Washington.
Television: ESPN.
Radio: KZSU 90.1 FM.
Head Coaches: Stanford - David Shaw. Washington - Chris Peterson.
Stanford: The Cardinal are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-12. They are coming off a 22-13 road win over UCLA on Sept. 24. Heisman hopeful Christian McCaffrey had his difficulties last week against the Bruins, but he has still tallied 436 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns this season, as well as 119 receiving yards and a score. First-year starter Ryan Burns (35/57 for 395 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions) has been effective; most notably leading the Cardinal on a two-minute drive to put the Cardinal ahead for good late in the fourth quarter. The return of the shifty Bryce Love is a nice change of pace for McCaffrey's brutal running. Trenton Irwin has become a nice receiving option, having caught 9 passes for 105 yards this season. Michael Rector is the deep threat and has 6 catches for 79 yards and a score. Conrad Ukropina is a perfect 7/7 on extra points and 6/6 on field goals through three games. Official Roster.
Washington: The Huskies are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Pac-12. They are coming off a 35-28 road win over Arizona on Sept.24. Though they struggled a bit against the Wildcats, the Huskies are just about as balanced a team which can be found in the conference. Jake Browning leads the charge, having completed over 70 percent of his passes for 902 yards, 14 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. Myles Gaskin and Lavon Coleman provide a one-two punch of a ground game, having registered 302 and 261 yards, respectively. Chico McClatcher leads receivers with 12 catches for 269 yards and 4 touchdowns John Ross has 17 catches for 195 yards and 5 scores, and Dante Pettis has 11 grabs for 151 yards with 3 trips to the end zone. Darrell Daniels rounds out the receiving corps with 10 receptions for 135 yards and a score. Official Roster.
Notes: Stanford is ranked seventh and Washington 10th in the country headed into this game. Stanford is on the road for three of its first four games. The Cardinal have had four players taken in the first round of the NFL draft -- all quarterbacks. Washington is opening the 2016 season playing four of its first five games -- and five of its first six -- at home in Seattle. Quarterbacks who played for Washington account for the second-most QB starts in NFL history.

Gabe marks has been on the receiving end of 27 of those passes for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns. Tavares Martin Jr. has added 19 receptions for 212 yards and a score.
