15 games in, Sheridan Hoops has Aldridge 2nd in MVP race

the guys over at Sheridan Hoops have me thinking they might be ready to abandon their large-market leanings and talk some real basketball analysis. in its november 27 mvp rankings, Chris Sheridan himself has the Blazers LaMarcus Aldridge at second (last week he was third. here is what he has to say about Portland's all-star:

LaMARCUS ALDRIDGE, F, PORTLAND: Gets a bump northward after being named West Player of the Week, as Portland went into Wednesday night’s tilt vs. Phoenix riding the franchise’s longest winning streak (11 games) since 2007 when they reeled off 13 in a row. Brilliance from LMA in comeback win at Golden State as he had 15 and 9 in the fourth quarter alone. Yes, he was fined $45K for his part in the brouhaha with Golden State; consider it money well spent.

i think it's interesting to note here that the top three players in this week's rankings, as well as number eight, play for the three teams with the league's best record. theoretically, as long as the Blazers keep winning, we could expect to see LaMarcus in these rankings.
