The following is part two of a three-part commentary on the Fan Scouting process of the Salt Lake Screaming EaglesThe men that makeup the Screaming Eagles scouting department basically are fans. They bring little knowledge of the basics and must learn quickly in order too provide a department on the equivalent of indoor football standards. How are these men taught? The process begins with the hiring of a scouting director too ensure that operations are going smoothly. Jason Hilton is given this task and through email he communicates with members of the department nationwide enabling them to process the tools necessary too be successful. Ray Austin, an important member of the front office team and ex-NFL standout gets the message out to the scouts as well. Fan Coach Shawn Lioata is involved with the teaching aspects of If life that he supplements with opinions of former NFL and arena stars to add spice to the operation. The department is advised of new developments each Wednesday night. These meetings are important especially to newcomers to the front office because new material is gone over that proves to be valuable in the development of a new franchise. - JG To comment on this thread and others on this forum, please login or register.

John, what are the types of input which are solicited by the team, and what general responses are offered by the fan scouts?

Jason Chilton is the correct name for scouting Director, we meet in video calls weekly and go over upcoming opponents and/or players to look at specifically. Now that the season is closing in, we will start looking and cuts of other teams and of the various football leagues.

Now that the season is closing in, we will start looking and cuts of other teams and of the various football leagues. As Coach McCarthey told Bannock the other night, the cutting of players is the hard part. In this case, the fans are making the decision, but I would not want to be in Coach McCarthey's position to have to inform them they are being cut.
