I've followed arena football for a while now but the AFL is a sinking ship that I (and many others) may not be able to watch. Also, the IFL is now on YT so I (and many others I assume) will now start watching it. However, I know nothing about the IFL other than the team names and that the Nighthawks QB is really good. I know there are a number of IFL fans/experts here on the site so can somebody give me the low-down on the IFL please? How is different from the AFL? How is different from normal football? Thanks for reading.

Go to the IFL section, then to the bottom to the IFL board. The third stickied topic is the IFL rules. That can get you up to speed with the basics. David and Angi are probably the biggest experts. Is there anything specific you would like to know?

I feel like there's more strategy involved in the IFL than the AFL to be honest. Some of the major differences I can tell you right off the bat. - No rebound nets. You'll see more squib kicks on kickoffs because if you kick it into the back of the net, you get a warning before it becomes a penalty. There's still opportunities to return kicks for touchdowns tough. - Defense: One linebacker can blitz right at the snap. Linebackers aren't restricted to the imaginary box that's in the AFL either. - Running Game. Because the linebackers can move more freely, it places more value on the running game more than in the AFL. So instead of a giant offensive lineman pretending to be a running back, you'll see more running backs in the IFL playing the position. Like Nevadanut said, be sure to check out my IFL Rules Thread that I made last year.
