I got this idea from a thread that was posted on Arenafan and my response was this:
The IFL and NAL would not exist in their current states as the Rattlers, Predators, Sharks, Sabercats, Shock, and Thunder would all still be in the AFL. Think about that for a second. More teams have been kicked out than are currently in the AFL. Every single one of them would most likely still be in the AFL without Butera.
Now the Valor and Brigade would not be in the league either and I don't care what anyone says all of the owners I listed above are more valuable to the league than Leonsis is. Ok, we have Leonsis, Gilbert, and Vinik. SO WHAT?! This league has only 5 teams with one of them being a pop-up shop that won't last more than a year in all likelihood. Not only has the AFL burned bridges but they also have put out the word that non NBA/NHL owners aren't welcomed, which is not a good thing.
I'd rather have the league die a slow death and all of us still have our teams than the league die a slow death and none of us having our teams.
What do you guys think? I know the opinions on this board would be different so I figured it would make a good discussion.
