GRAND ISLAND, NE - Despite falling down by two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Sioux Falls Storm were able to come back with 22 fourthq uarter points and emerge with the 42-28 win over the Nebraska Danger.
The game was close through the first three quarters, and the Danger held a 25-13 lead before the Storm narrowed the score on a 30 yard run by Korey Williams. The Storm too the lead on a four-yard run by Williams at the 7:08 mark of the fourth quarter.
After Josh Gable's 44-yard field goal tied it at 28-28 with just over two minutes to go, the Storm scored on a three-yard run, a sealed it with a 16-yard interception return by J'Von Blackmon with five seconds left.
The Storm out-rushed the Danger 121-84. They also converted three of four first downs.
Lorenzo Brown completed 13 of 23 passes for the Storm, for 146 yards with one touchdown and a pick, He rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown. Williams ran the ball five tiems for 40 yards and two scores. Williams also caught five passes for 63 yards and a score. Mike Tatum, who rushed for a touchdown on his lone carry of the game, caught four passes for 41 yards.
Derrick Bernard completed 12 of 24 passes for 173 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. he ran 11 times for 50 yards and a touchdown. Dimitri Stimphil has been the Danger's go-to guy all season, and he caught 5 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Dello Davis had three catches for 35 yards and a score.
The Storm (3-0) have a bye week before they host the Iowa Barnstormers for a 5:05 p.m. (PT) kickoff. The Danger also have a bye week, but are back in action in week six when they host the Colorado Crush on March 25. That game is set to start at 5:05 (PT). Both of those games, as well as all of the leagues games this season are available for streaming on the IFL's Youtube channel.
