Unamba answers our questions below:
1. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in football so far?
My number one achievement in football period is playing professionally. I've had so many doubters along the way and people telling me what I couldn’t do and I've played on the biggest stages and been all around the world playing the game including NFL and Canada.
2. What were your first impressions of Project FANchise and the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles?
That this is going to be interesting, and the fans are going to be super involved with this team and it has been nothing short of that. Before I was a part of it I heard Sports Illustrated was associated; a long time big football name so I said they must be on to something down there in Utah. Sign me up.
3. What was it that made you want to come to Utah and to earn a roster spot on the team?
I basically just answered this question with question #2 the fan interaction and involvement in the game and organization and Sports Illustrated.
4. Who has inspired you the most in your football career and in life?
I have had so many good people and coaches that have really inspired me and I have learned from throughout my career as an amateur and professional that its hard to pinpoint one, but one person who sticks out and has remained constant is my big brother, Trumaine. He has supported me since I started playing in junior high, to high school, college and every professional team I have played on. He has always been one of my biggest supporters always giving me words of encouragement and pushing me to be better.
5. What is your biggest long-term goal for your football career?
Staying healthy is my biggest long term goal of my football career, lol. But I definitely wish I could play this game forever but that’s not possible. I just hope that when its all said and done I make it back to the big stage, set myself up and my family for life after football and that I leave a legacy that people will remember me.
6. What would you like to accomplish this season?
I'm going for Defensive Player of the Year hands down! After all the hard work I have put in over the years to bring home an accolade like that would be amazing.
7. What are you looking forward to most about being a Screaming Eagle?
The fan aspect of everything the decisions, the play calls, front office decisions. I'm just interested in seeing how all this will play out in the long run. This has never been done before so I’m glad to be a part of history.
8. What would you like Screaming Eagles and IFL fans to know about you?
Besides football my second dream job I would want would be an actor and model.
Note: This is one of a series of player Questionnaires with members of the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles. We at SCtoC thank the players for taking time out of their schedules, and thank Austin Paxson for setting up these Q&A's.
