So, the Crush removed Jose Jefferson as Head Coach and they also let go the receivers coach in a "money saving" effort. Players and coaches report not being paid in a timely manner. I have it from a pretty good source that there are a lot of rumors going around about the pay, but they are getting paid. Just a slow process. I know it has been slow for me to get paid as a broadcaster.
This could be the beginning of the end again for the Colorado Crush.

We are working on getting more information.

Uh oh, this isn't good. This makes me wonder why were the Crush sold to Fanchise? If the Crush are like this, then what is the situation with the Screaming Eagles? Is this part of the reason McCarthy was fired?

As I've said in the past, I have a fondness for the Crush mainly because of family ties I have to the Loveland/Fort Collins area. I first heard about the team when they were still the Ice when I visited my great uncle. I remember looking them up later on and liking what the arena looked like (and their logo). I can only hope someone will step in and buy the team...and treat it right. It the least they could do for Tom Wigley and the great community of Loveland/Fort Collins.

I'm glad Jose got a couple wins at least. Hope he gets on his feet as an IFL HC next year.

So, there were 4 groups that were originally interested. They were weeded down to 2 by the league and then a final buyer was agreed upon and everything looked good. At the last minute that buyer backed out and decided not to buy the Crush, for unknown reasons. That is when the Fanchise Group stepped in at the last minute and decided to buy the Crush. It was very late in the process and I believe that is what has hindered the organization the most.
And Spiderfan...yes the Screaming Eagles are in just as much trouble. Without new ownership for both teams I would expect them to fold prior to next season.

The reason I'm asking is, in the past with sports teams if someone misses out the first time on buying (insert team here) they try again. Do you think one or both teams will fold prior to the end of this season or do you think they'll finish?

I have from a very reputable source that the Crush will cease operations if no buyer is found by 6/17. Project FANchise is looking to start their own league specifically for the fan calling system.
This is very upsetting for me since I just got back to Colorado and was extremely excited to be a part of the team. But business is business.

Is this the same for the Screaming Eagles or will they be part of the new FANchise league? Why won't the Crush be part of that league?

Unfortunately indoor football in Northern Colorado isn't as popular as we want it to be, but branding, PR and communications weren't putting out enough media to generate interest in my opinion. Half of NoCo didn't even know who the Crush were. I can't imagine anyone stepping up unfortunately. I'm not sure about Salt Lake, but I know FANchise wants to start a league specifically to run like the Eagles and Crush, but without solid owners and good backing, I can't imagine it will happen unfortunately.

I do know that there are a couple interested parties. If there is a new owner there will be some time between when they fold and when they are good to go by the league. I am very upset with how Fanchise ran the Crush from a PR stand point. Look at the website and you will see how lazy they have been. They knew what they were doing coming into the season. I am willing to bet that this was in the plans all along, and the fans are the ones that get screwed over. I do think that there are very good odds that neither team will be around next season. Kind of puts a new twist on the game for May 8th. I wonder who will be in attendance from Fanchise and if the Colorado fans will let them know what they are feeling? I know that Patrick will probably come into the booth if he is there and that may be a very difficult interview for me and my partner.

I wanted to come in and try some new PR and communication tactics for them that I learned while with the San Diego Gulls that made them successful. I spoke to someone within the organization before the season and I wanted to help the communication department as much as possible (website, social media, etc) and they were all for it. Timing just was bad since I was in California. I do agree that neither team will be around next year and that's extremely for the fans, and people like myself looking to break out in the sports industry. Indoor football can be a huge deal and a lot of fun, but the whole FANchise thing just seemed a little too disorganized for it to succeed. Who knows though, the Crush could get a new owner. You never know.

Agreed on all counts. Unfortunately for SLC, I think the Crush have a better chance at getting a new owner than the SLC team. I think that there are already parties interested in Colorado and I am not sure there is even a sign that SLC will be for sale yet. My 2 cents...

I do have another question: Why will there a be divide between folding and purchasing? Wouldn't the league want someone to buy the team to keep it from folding? If the team folds and is then purchased what happens to the roster of players? What happens to you as a broadcaster?

If the team folds and is then purchased what happens to the roster of players? What happens to you as a broadcaster? I think that it is simply a timing issue with the season in play and probably not wanting the sale to happen mid-season. Just from what happened last season it appears that a gap is more likely than a seamless transition.
If there is a gap, the players would be in limbo and free to go and sign elsewhere I would imagine. Hopefully they like what they have here and when the new owners take control they would be signed again. It all depends on timing of everything.
As for me, as a broadcaster, if they are back next year we will do our best to get back on the air. The on air talent is always a decision of the owner and who they like. With the change in GM there will be a little more work to get to the new owner. As it is now, I have a great relationship with the GM and have an in there. However, he is leaving at the end of the season so that will open the door to see who takes over.
Bottom line is that we are in limbo and have to see what the future holds. Right now, this is all speculation and unclear to anyone.

Selling now would be good for Fanchise, but we shall see what the league allows.
