SCtoC QUICK TAKE
The Rattlers rattled off eight straight wins to end the regular season and clinch the first seed in the Intense Conference. They are the third former AFL team to reach the playoffs within their first three seasons since leaving the fledgling league and joining the IFL. The Danger are making their fifth consecutive trip to the postseason. They won the Intense Conference Championship 2013 through 2015 before losing in the United Bowl to the Sioux Falls Storm in each of those years. The Rattlers defeated the Danger in both of their meetings this season, by an average margin of 11 points.
Drew Powell will make just his fifth start of the season for Nebraska. He has largely been effective in the running game, ranking second on the team with 334 rushing yards and first with 13 rushing touchdowns. Rob Brown has proven to be an effective rusher and receiver this season. His twin brother, Robert Brown, was released by the Spokane Empire during the season and immediately signed with the Danger. Dimitri Stimphil, Eric Thomas and Carl Sims are a make up a talented receiving group.
Running is the name of the game when it comes to the Rattlers, who accumulate nearly as many rushing yards as they do passing yards per game. Darrell Monroe was second overall and first among running backs with 721 yards per game, while racking up 18 touchdowns. Teammate Ketrich Harmon had 373 yards and nine touchdowns. Cody Sokol is a solid quarterback who is adept at limiting mistakes. Anthony Amos and Jamal Miles are typically Sokol's top targets in the passing game.
