Starting on July 4th, the Indoor Football League has begun announcing individual and franchise awards based on the 2017 Season.

The following is the complete list of individual and team awards.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS



Most Valuable Player & Offensive Player of the Year: QB Charles McCullum (Wichita Falls Nighthawks)

• IFL MVP for the 2nd Consecutive Season
• Led IFL with 311 completions, 3,049 passing yards, and 75 touchdowns
• Rushed for 276 yards and 12 TDs
• 311 completions (IFL single season record)
• 2017 First Team All-IFL Selection

Defensive Player of the Year: LB Javicz Jones (Iowa Barnstormers)

• Finished the season with 148 tackles (most in IFL), 2.0 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 4 pass breakups, and 1 blocked kick
• Contributed to a Barnstormers defense that allowed 36.3 points per game (2nd in IFL).
• Named IFL Defensive Player of the Week in Week 4 and Week 8
• 2017 First Team All-IFL Selection
  

Special Teams Player of the Year: RB/KR Tyler Williams (Wichita Falls Nighthawks)

• Set IFL's Single Season All Purpose Yardage (2,554)
• First IFL player to top 2,000 all purpose yards since 2009
• Rushed for 549 yards, 17 TDs
• 55 receptions, 405 yards, 10 TDs
• Finished the season with 1,600 kick return yards and 2 TDs
• Accounted for 180 total points
• 2017 First Team All-IFL Kick Returner
• 2017 Second Team All-IFL Running Back 

Offensive Rookie of the Year: QB Verlon Reed (Salt Lake Screaming Eagles)

• 2,734 passing yards, 54 touchdown passes (3rd in IFL)
• 759 rushing yards (1st in IFL)
• 16 rushing touchdowns (5th in IFL)
• Week 2 IFL Offensive Player of the Week
• Screaming Eagles finished 3rd in IFL in Offensive Yards (231.6)

Defensive Rookie of the Year: DB Trey Wafford (Nebraska Danger)

• 129 total tackles (2nd in IFL), 6 tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups
• Week 1 Special Teams Player of the Week
• 2017 First Team All-IFL Selection
• Second consecutive DROTY for Nebraska (DB Jabori Gorman)

Head Coach of the Year: Dixie Wooten (Iowa Barnstormers)

• Guided Barnstormers to 13-3 record in first season
• Clinched Barnstormers' first playoff berth since the 2009 af2 Season
• IFL Season High 11 game winning streak
• Held opponents to 30 points or less 8 times

Most Improved Player: QB Travis Partridge (Iowa Barnstormers)

• Guided Barnstormers to 13-3 record and first playoff berth since the 2009 af2 Season
• 2,389 passing yards, 47 touchdown passes
• 693 rushing yards (3rd in IFL)
• 24 rushing touchdowns (1st in IFL)
• 2017 Second Team All-IFL Selection

Adam Pringle Award: WR Jack Bramswig (Green Bay Blizzard)

• Awarded to player or coach demonstrating outstanding service and dedication to their community
• Leader for the Blizzard's ROAR for Reading Program
• Volunteered at Boys & Girls Club
• Assisted in After School programs to raise funds for Desert Veterans of Wisconsin
• Served as a celebrity waiter at local restaurant

Franchise of the Year: Arizona Rattlers

[/font][li]Awarded based on attendance, sales, public relations, marketing, on-field performance, community involvement, overall representation of the IFL
[/li][li]12-4 record in their first season in the IFL[/li][li]Intense Conference Champions[/li][li]League Attendance Record 15,189 Fans[/li][/ul]

Executive of the Year: John Pettit (Iowa Barnstormers' Vice President/Chief Operating Officer)

[/font][li]13-3 record in 2017[/li][li]6,800 average attendance, highest since Barnstormers joined IFL in 2015[/li][/ul]

Best Fan Base: Arizona Rattlers

• Awarded for fanbase with most enthusiasm, energy, and overall appreciation for their team
• Franchise (and IFL) Record 15,189 attendance on May 20th
• 12,852 average attendance, highest in IFL

Best Game Operations: Iowa Barnstormers

• Awarded for the team's Most Interactive & On Field Promotions, Game Day Presentations, Half-Time Shows, Giveaways, Mascots, and Music

Best Cheerleader/Dance Team: "The Sidewinders -
Arizona Rattlers

Community Relations Award: Sioux Falls Storm

[/font][li]Awarded for outstanding service to local community[/li][li]Raised over $150,000 for the Sioux Falls Community[/li][li]Supporting programs including Rebekah's Legacy Foundation,
SURVIVEiT, Make a Wish Foundation, and Operation Homefront[/li][/ul]

Hospitality Award: Green Bay Blizzard

[/font][li]Awarded for Best Overall Experience for Visiting Teams, including hotel, pre and post game meals, and other accomodations exceeding standard expectations[/li][/ul]

Best Website/Social Media: Nebraska Danger

[/font][li]Awarded based on Aesthetics, Ease of Use, Up to Date Information, Content, and Fan Interaction[/li][/ul]


Best Mascot: Bruiser the Yeti - Green Bay Blizzard

[/font][li]Awarded for most creative, energetic, and talented mascot[/li][li]Second Consecutive Award for Green Bay[/li][li]Mascots include Bruiser and his niece and nephew, Blizz & Bling[/li][li]Mascots appeared in community events around the Green Bay Area[/li][/ul]


Best Media Relations: Spokane Empire

[/font][li]Awarded for media involvement, press releases, game notes, articles, media guides, and overall accessable content.[/li][/ul]
