Starting on July 4th, the Indoor Football League has begun announcing individual and franchise awards based on the 2017 Season.
The following is the complete list of individual and team awards.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Most Valuable Player & Offensive Player of the Year: QB Charles McCullum (Wichita Falls Nighthawks)
- IFL MVP for the 2nd Consecutive Season
- Led IFL with 311 completions, 3,049 passing yards, and 75 touchdowns
- Rushed for 276 yards and 12 TDs
- 311 completions (IFL single season record)
- 2017 First Team All-IFL Selection
- Finished the season with 148 tackles (most in IFL), 2.0 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 4 pass breakups, and 1 blocked kick
- Contributed to a Barnstormers defense that allowed 36.3 points per game (2nd in IFL).
- Named IFL Defensive Player of the Week in Week 4 and Week 8

Special Teams Player of the Year: RB/KR Tyler Williams (Wichita Falls Nighthawks)
- Set IFL's Single Season All Purpose Yardage (2,554)
- First IFL player to top 2,000 all purpose yards since 2009
- Rushed for 549 yards, 17 TDs
- 55 receptions, 405 yards, 10 TDs
- Finished the season with 1,600 kick return yards and 2 TDs
- Accounted for 180 total points

Offensive Rookie of the Year: QB Verlon Reed (Salt Lake Screaming Eagles)
- 2,734 passing yards, 54 touchdown passes (3rd in IFL)

- 16 rushing touchdowns (5th in IFL)
- Week 2 IFL Offensive Player of the Week
- Screaming Eagles finished 3rd in IFL in Offensive Yards (231.6)
Defensive Rookie of the Year: DB Trey Wafford (Nebraska Danger)
- 129 total tackles (2nd in IFL), 6 tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups
- Week 1 Special Teams Player of the Week
- 2017 First Team All-IFL Selection
- Second consecutive DROTY for Nebraska (DB Jabori Gorman)
Head Coach of the Year: Dixie Wooten (Iowa Barnstormers)
- Guided Barnstormers to 13-3 record in first season
- Clinched Barnstormers' first playoff berth since the 2009 af2 Season

- Held opponents to 30 points or less 8 times
