As the Blazers prepare to take on the Knicks on February 5, they were in the Big Apple a day early where they got to meet with new NBA commissioner Adam Silver. As soon as Silver took over last weekend, all basketballs used in NBA games were changed to show those with his signature on them. Apparently, in these photos, he's showing Blazers players how to shoot with and handle "his" ball. Silver gave Wesley some one-on-one tips. Wesley reportedly told Silver today was the first time he shook hands with a commissioner, since he was not drafted into the NBA.
And then held a clinic for Damian, LaMarcus, Wesley and CJ.

Following their meeting with Silver, the guys headed to Sirius Satellite Radio for interviews. LaMarcus tweeted this shot of him at the mic, cartooonized!Wesley, CJ and LaMarcus are interviewed, with the L-Train telling the audience that it is a "travesty" that Wesley was not chosen to participate in the 3-point shootout during all-star weekend.

I'm glad our guys got a chance to meet Silver in person. I hope they nudged him about the horrible officiating we've been getting screwed by lately. Still, it has to be a nice experience for the guys. I agree with LaMarcus that Wesley should be in the 3-point shootout. It really is a travesty. He more than deserves it.

Could not agree with you more about the HORRIBLE officiating. The fact that Wes is not in the 3-pt contest is just utterly ridiculous. I bet for the remainder of the season, it will still be Stern's rules, Stern's officiating, and Stern's Finals.

I don't think Silver will make any major changes until at least summer time. Like my sister, I still hold out hope that he will address things like the officiating. Matthews and Lillard could have both gotten invites to the three-point shootout. I understand with Lillard since he's going to be in three other events. Matthews numbers and percentage make him a perfect candidate for it though. It's unfortunate that the powers that be don't understand that.
