I recently sat down with the most dynamic executive I have ever had the privilege of talking to in Greg Anderson, Executive Vice President of the San Diego Strike Force. Anderson feels that the franchise will be able to capitalize on the football fever that the Chargers left the town during the teams stay there. He thinks that the team is in a better position than the previous San Diego entry into the indoor game, the af2 San Diego Riptide. The Riptide were owned by former Philadelphia Eagle Jon Runyon only for a short time before folding due to lack of attendance. Anderson thinks that the IFL style of play which is close to the NFL style will help attract fans and may bring NFL stars like Kareem Hunt to the team looking for away to restart their careers. Anderson feels that the IFL might be a television attraction in the future showcasing itself as a premiere league that will be around for a long time too come.
