T.J. Neal is a 6'0", 230-lb linebacker who. Following week 7, he has 29 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss a pass break up and a half sack. In three seasons at the University of Illinois, he played in 37 games, accumulating 245 tackles and 21.5 tackles for loss. During his senior season at Auburn, he appeared in 11 games, recording 15 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. He was All-Academic Big-10 during the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons at Illinois. Neal is originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Here are Neal's answers to our questions:
1. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in football so far?
Receiving a football scholarship.
2. What were your first impressions of the prospect of playing indoor football?
Unexpected. When I got the call to play, I was moving on from playing ball. It was surprising!
3. What was it that made you want to come and try out for the team?
To create an opportunity to play in the NFL.
4. Who has inspired you most in your football career and in life?
My mother
5. What is your biggest long-term goal for your football career?
Maximize my ability and reach my fullest potential.
6. What would you like to accomplish this season?
Defensive Player of the Year.
7. What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
Making the most out of my opportunity.
8. Please describe how important your family has been to you during your football journey?
My family is the reason I am here. Thanks to my mother; she told me I could do it.
9. What is at the heart of your desire to continue your football career?
To reach my fullest potential in my abilities.
10. What would you like IFL fans to know about you?
I have a three-year-old daughter who is the most precious person to me. She is the female version of her dad.
