This article came out today saying that Beverley called out Lillard for "whining". www.blazersedge.com/2014/3/10/5493794/rockets-g-patrick-beverley-says-blazers-g-damian-lillard-whinesSorry, but Beverley's too busy getting hit by a train, or acting like it. However, I hope this pisses Lillard off enough to make him go for 40 tomorrow! Seriously, f*** that POS flopper. And sorry if when Lillard is "whining", he is expecting the game to be called fairly, and wanting to get a call if contact is made. Isn't that how basketball is supposed to work? And I think it's absolute BS that no flopping fines have come out from that game. How could they NOT see that Harden, Lin, and Beverley were ALL flopping? I just don't get it. Also, I'm just throwing this out there, but what is the point of getting fined for a flop? Seriously, with how much NBA players make, a fine for flopping is pocket change. Yeah, the fine goes up for each additional flop, leading to a suspension, but do you REALLY expect the NBA to go that far? Especially when they won't even call a 5-second violation when inbounding the ball? Give me a break. I think a technical foul should given out for a flop. I can almost guarantee flopping would go way down if that were to happen. Also, apparently the officials were giving the Rockets a gift during that last inbounds pass when Harden made that game-tying 3, hence my comment about the officials not calling a 5-second violation. www.csnnw.com/blazers/did-rockets-get-6-second-gift-end-regulation

FIBA gives the player a technical when players flop. i'm not sure if there's a warning on the first, but i thnk that's a good idea. i wrote the same thing in my letter to Adam Silver. there has to be more severe -- and more immediate -- consequences for things like flopping.
Beverley is ridiculous. the Rockets got away with so much in that fourth quarter that they should be embarrassed when they look at the win column and think this was a legitimate win.

Technically, doesn't this mean Beverley is whining about him thinking that Lillard is whining? It's a vicious cycle! What I took away from is was that the interview was over, but Beverley really wanted to make sure he got to say this during the interview. That's completely classless. It clearly appears that Beverley is trying to start something in the long-term with Lillard and I think it just underlines the point that he's doing the very thing he's accusing Lillard of doing. I watched this game and I can tell you that he did his own share of whining to the officials. As they say, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I would love to see someone take each instance of Beverley's complaining the other night, put them in a video montage and send it to he and the Rockets' organization. Perhaps they would be inclined to tell him to shut up.

Just jumping in here. I think all three of you have hit the nail on the head with your comments. Any team that gets as many times to the free throw line as this team, should be looked at more closely by the league. The thing that just blew me away was the amount of flopping by the whole team and the dirty play. After the game I got to thinking that perhaps I was seeing the game through Blazer eyes instead of NBA eyes, but then I watched the Rockets again play the Thunder. My decision is, it's a dirty team with dirty players and their coach seems to like it that way, since he was asked about the dirty play and he had no problem with it. I know people will say that we allowed ourselves to get into a position to lose this game, but, having played the game myself, with the number of unfair and lopsided calls that came in that fourth quarter, I know that as a player there is nothing more frustrating than realizing the referees were determined to not let us win. I am totally surprised that there were no, I repeat no, flopping fines given out by the NBA for this game. Pretty disgusting.

i'm glad you jumped in. the league has too long turned a blind eye to indiscretions. they came up with "stricter" rules in regards to complaining, but never enforced them (especially against "superstars"). They came up with a flopping rule and now they're not enforcing it (relatively speaking). it's been a long time since i've seen a game with as much flopping as in the game against the Rockets. the sad thing is that it seems the younger players are more guilty as the guys who have been around for a long time.
then again, with they way things are done, maybe we should be doing some flopping. maybe the refs will give us some of those calls other teams get. of course, i'm being facetious, but i think you guys get my point. i've maintained that with Silver taking over, i'm hopeful, but i don't see any major changes happening until the summer. i'm afraid it's going to be status quo until then.
