With the conclusion of the 2019 Regular Season set for Monday, the Northwest League announced its 2019 NWL End-Of-Season All-Star Team on the previous Thursday.
Spokane Indians first baseman Blane Crim and Hillsboro Hops pitcher Deyni Olivero highlighted the NWL All-Star Season Team, winning the Northwest League's Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year awards, respectively.
Crim becomes the second straight Spokane Indians first basemen to be named NWL Player of the Year, following in the steps of former first baseman Curtis Terry. Crim was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 2019 MLB Draft and began his professional career in the Arizona League with AZL Rangers before he was assigned to Spokane on June 21st. He went on to have an outstanding season, playing in 53 games with 71 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs, and 45 RBI. His 45 RBIs, .335 batting average, and .927 on-base plus slugging percentage lead all Northwest League hitters. Crim was a 2019 NWL All-Star Selection and was named NWL Top Star after going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI in the 11-7 loss to the Pioneer League.
Olivero, a free agent acquisition by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015, was a key member for a talented Hillsboro Hops pitching staff that led the Northwest League in team ERA (2.82). After two years starting out in the Dominican Summer League, he got the call to play in his first season with Hillsboro, going 8-3 with a 2.09 ERA and 42 strikeouts. In 64.2 innings pitched, he allowed only 15 earned runs and 20 walks. His 8 wins and 2.09 ERA both were tops among all NWL pitchers.
