Overview
The following is the 2020 schedule for the Oakland Panthers.
The Panthers enter the season as one of three Indoor Football League expansion teams (along with the Spokane Shock and Frisco Fighters). The team is owned by Roy Choi -- who also owns the Cedar Rapids River Kings and San Diego Strike Force -- and NFL Super Bowl champion running back Marshawn Lynch. "Beastmode" is an Oakland native, and is the brother of Panthers RB Davonte Sapp-Lynch. They will make their IFL entrance with the expectation of competing for one of the eight league playoff spots.
After a bye to open the season, the Panthers are at home for their first three weeks of competition. The first comes against the Iowa Barnstormers on March 14th. They follow up that homestand with three straight on the road, and have another two straight on the road in early June. Oakland concludes its inaugural season with a visit to Tucson to clash with the Sugar Skulls. They do not face the Bismarck Bucks, Cedar Rapids River Kings, Quad City Steamwheelers nor Sioux Falls Storm.
Each IFL team plays 14 games (seven home and seven away), and has three bye weeks. The Panthers have byes in in Weeks 1, 5 and 12. They play their home games at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California. Kurt Bryan will serve as the team's first-ever head coach.
All Panthers games will be broadcast locally on the radio and will be available for streaming through those stations. SCtoC will provide links in its previews of the games, as well as recaps of each IFL game. Broadcast information for each game is forthcoming and will be updated on this page when available.
Below is the Panthers 2020 schedule. Home games are noted in bold gold. Times and dates are subject to change. All times are pacific. Click on the final score for the boxscore and Recap for SCtoC's original recap of this game.
