Out with the eagle; in with the shield.
On Thursday, the Indoor Football League's social media accounts officially unveiled two brand new logos, officially kicking off a new era for the new decade.
The primary icons for the league's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages now sport a new shield logo, while its cover photos reveal the new alternate logo.
The new primary logo is a large silver shield with blue and red colors on the inside, with a football arcing around the front shield with a red, blue, and white contrail. Inside of the shield is the new "IFL" font, with the addition of "The" at the top.
The new shield logo replaces the eagle logo, which has been in use by the IFL since it's creation in 2009 after the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football leagues merged into the current league.

The new alternate logo replaces the original alternate IFL logo, which was simply the IFL letters with a white and gold football between the F and the L and the words "Indoor Football League" beneath it. The new logo features a shield as well, but with a silver and dark grey football at the top with "Indoor" written on the bottom. In the middle of the shield, colored primarily in dark blue, is "Football" in giant white letters that begin and end outside of the shield. Beneath "Football" in red letters is "League", along with lines beneath the "Football" font that gives the logo a 3D perspective. At the bottom of the shield is "IFL in white letters, surrounded on both sides by two red stars.

Both logos were unveiled during the Columbus expansion team announcement at Nationwide Arena on December 12th, 2019. The logos coincided with the announcement that the Germain family, who has ownership stakes in Columbus and the expansion Frisco Fighters, acquired the rights to the business operations of the IFL. This also included the rights to TV broadcasts, digital streaming rights, licencing rights, sponsorship rights, and advertising assets.
Over the last two months, the new IFL shield and alternate logo have slowly been updated to some of the team's websites and social media, such as the Bismarck Bucks, Oakland Panthers, San Diego Strike Force, and Spokane Shock.
At the time of this writing, the IFL's website has not been updated with the new logos.
The new logos were introduced with the announcement of the Deuce rule being added for the 2020 season.
The 2020 IFL Season kicks off March 7th, with the Quad City Steamwheelers taking on the Cedar Rapids River Kings.
