The following is the complete schedule for the 2020 WNBA Playoffs.
Much like their men's counterparts in the NBA, the WNBA Playoffs are being held in a "Bubble City" (or as the players have referred to it, the "Wubble") at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida (about 45 miles south of Tampa, FL). The Sports Academy, a boarding school dedicated to student-athletes Grades 6-12 and Post-Grads, will serve as a Bubble City to try and prevent/contain the outbreak of COVID-19 among WNBA players, coaches, and staff.
Despite playing in the Wubble, the WNBA Playoff format is the same format that the league has used since the 2016 season. Rather than play with the top teams in the Eastern and Western Conference, WNBA teams make the playoffs with the highest winning percentages regardless of conference. The teams are seeded based on their record.
The first two rounds of the playoffs are single elimination games, with the #8 seed taking on the #5 seed and the #7 seed taking on the #6 seed. The winners advance to the second round, with the #3 seed taking on the lowest remaining seed and the #4 seed taking on the higher seed.
The winners of the first and second rounds then advance to the semifinals to take on the #1 and #2 seeds. The semifinals are a best-of-five format, with the lowest remaining seed taking on the #1 seed, and the #2 team taking on the remaining team. The winners advance to the WNBA Finals, which are also a best-of-five.
The defending champion Washington Mystics, minus star player Elena Delle-Donne (medical exempt), finished the abbreviated 2020 season with a 9-13 record, claiming the #8 seed in the WNBA standings. They look to overcome the odds and repeat as champions, taking on the #5 seeded Phoenix Mercury (13-9).
Meanwhile, the #7 Connecticut Sun (10-12) look to get back to the WNBA Finals once more after falling to Washington last year. They take on the #6 Chicago Sky (12-10), who finished first in the Eastern Conference.
The winners of the first round will take on the #3 Los Angeles Sparks (15-7) or the #4 Minnesota Lynx (14-8) in the second round. The winners of the second round will then advance to take on the #1 seeded Las Vegas Aces (18-4) or the #2 Seattle Storm (18-4). The Aces, despite having the same record as the Storm, win the tiebreaker by virtue of taking the season series 2-0.
Each round of the WNBA Playoffs will appear most recent at the top of the post. Final results will be updated following the conclusion of the games. All game times are listed in the Pacific Timezone (PST). Where applicable, click on the final score to view the WNBA's game tracker for the complete box score.
All WNBA Playoff Games will be broadcast on the ABC/ESPN family of networks. Most games will be broadcast on ESPN2 (12 tentative games), followed by ABC (4 tentative games) and ESPN (3 tentative games)
