Is it Halloween yet? No? Well it is time for the Week 6 Edition of Web of Football, so without further ado I'm Spiderfan the official NFL Analyst for SCtoC and let us begin!
The Cowboys are a disgrace
Andy Dalton is not a bad quarterback. He is someone that has led teams to the playoffs, has made Pro Bowls, and has won a bunch of games throughout his near decade long career. Despite these facts, the Cowboys team apparently has decided to quit now that Dak Prescott's ankle has been destroyed. What makes it worse is that the Cowboys wouldn't have won if Dak was the QB and they weren't winning when he was the QB. Dropping passes and playing with low enthusiasm to punish Dalton for existing isn't cool. The receivers should catch passes regardless of who the QB is, after all that is their job and not doing their job because they think that their season is over, despite that not being the case, is disgraceful.
For as much as I love bragging on guys for their statistical impressiveness, the fact that the Cowboys team was built around Dak getting garbage yards and everyone acting like he was elite because of those garbage yards in the gimmicky Kellen Moore offense, makes Cardinals QB Kyler Murray's low stat performance (9/24 for less than 200 yards and 2 TD passes) actually look impressive because the Cardinals won by 28 points. Dak may be out for the season but that doesn't change anything because the Cowboys defense is still terrible and the offense still is turning over the ball at a high rate and the offensive scheme sucks for everyone that isn't the receivers who like racking up yards after catch to pump their fantasy stats.
You wanna make Andy Dalton look bad and quit on national television? Do it. Bottom out and get Trevor Lawrence ya scrubs because spoiler: He is better than Andy Dalton and Dak Prescott.
The Buccaneers are legit
The Tommy Bay Buccaneers have had some ups and downs so far this season, but I think they have finally reached a breakthrough. They completely destroyed the previously undefeated Packers 38-10, dominating on defense with the secondary making or setting up scoring plays, and the defensive line making Packers QB Aaron Rodgers look like a has been. The offense made plays too, the most notable of which was Rob Gronkowski's first TD catch as Buccaneer. During the game FOX color commentator Troy Aikman talked about how the Packers are likely to meet the Buccaneers again in the postseason and will hope for a different outcome.
Well, I've got news for the Packers: Y'all that had same optimism with the 49ers last year and both games went the same way. Humiliating losses. Be careful what ya wish for Cheeseheads.
Other thoughts:
-The Patriots aren't dead yet folks, for as much as the rest of the NFL world wishes they were.
-The Ravens and Chiefs are still good... the Bills not so much.
-Da Bears are also good.
-For as ridiculous as it was that The Artists formerly known as Redskins HC Ron Rivera decided to go for the win on Sunday, the fact remains that they are still within striking distance of winning the NFC East despite being 1-5. Insert redundant 2020 joke here.
-Congrats to the Colts on their comeback win against the Bengals!
-Congrats to Raheem Morris for his first win as Falcons HC and the Falcons at large for not being winless anymore!
ROAD TO 0-16
1 teams is currently 0-6. I will keep doing this segment until that team has a win or a tie. The team that is currently without a win or tie is:
New York Jets
It is only fitting that Ryan Fitzpatrick's possible last game as a starting QB was against his former team the New York Jets. He threw 3 TDs in the first half, which was all the Dolphins needed to win as the Jets didn't even score a point. Tua also made his debut late in the blowout win and will be the starter of the Dolphins going forward. Adam Gase still has his job and with the Jets still remaining winless, they are the current frontrunners for number 1 pick which is likely going to be Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence who is currently playing on a better team than the Jets... and he is at Clemson. Godspeed Trevor!
ROAD TO 16-0
3 teams are currently undefeated. I will keep doing this segment until every team has a loss or a tie. Teams currently without a loss or tie are:
Pittsburgh Steelers
Tennessee Titans
Seattle Seahawks
The Texans showed more heart in their OT loss against the Titans than they've showed in years, but as previously stated it was a loss. The Titans are contenders for the AFC and as they showed last year, they'll be a tough out in the postseason. The Steelers with a reborn Big Ben have also resumed their AFC contender status and showed that they are a team to be reckoned with in their blowout win against the Browns. It will be a fun match up next week when the Steelers and Titans go head to head.
Team most likely to 16-0 IMO is whoever wins the Titans-Steelers game and the Seahawks
Well, that is all for this week. As always I hope ya enjoyed and hope to see ya again next week. This is spiderfan out.
