Two hundred fifty-nine players see their futures changed during a three-day span. That sounds monumental, and it should. Not only in the first round, but in the subsequent rounds was that number of football players heard their names called during the 2020 NFL Draft.
This year's NFL Draft will be held in Cleveland, home of the Browns. This follows a recent trend in which various NFL cities have been chosen to host the event; such as Philadelphia and Nashville. Last year's Draft was scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, but it was later held virtually due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Next year's Draft will be held in Las Vegas due to the location cancellation. The 2023 Draft is set to be held in Kansas City, Missouri; home of the Chiefs.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have the first selection and are widely predicted to pick quarterback Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson. The New York Jets possess the second pick and are anticipated to select a quarterback by many, but that could be a surprise with a player at another position. The Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the final pick in each round (barring trades), as well as the 259th and final pick, most commonly referred to as Mr. Irrelevant. That pick comes at the end of the seven-round.
The Philadelphia Eagles own the most picks in the Draft with 11, while the Seattle Seahawks have the least with just three. Those could change if either team makes a trade involving draft picks.
The Draft is broadcast all three days on ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Radio. It is available for streaming on the NFL app. The schedule breakdown of the Draft is as follows (all times are pacific time):
Round 1 - Thursday, April 29, beginning at 5 p.m.
Rounds 2-3 - Friday, April 30, beginning at 4 p.m.
Rounds 4-7 - Saturday, May 1, beginning at 9 a.m.
There are 10 minutes between selections for round 1, seven minutes for round 2, five minutes for rounds 3 through 6, and four minutes for round 7.
The following is the 2021 Draft order for all seven rounds. Selections will be updated regularly during the Draft. Each round is noted with the subhead of that round, followed by the overall selection, followed by the team with that selection. Trades and compensatory picks have been noted. Our NFL Analyst spiderfan will provide analysis of several key selections soon after they are made. The analysis will appear in the comments section of this thread.
