Breakdown
SHOCK
Spokane fell in their season opener at home before staging a fourth-quarter comeback against the Massachusetts Pirates in week 5. The Shock's offense has struggled at times through their first two games, but they are coming off a bye week in which they have the opportunity to tighten things up. Charles McCullum has struggled through much of the early part of the season, but he is a former IFL Player of the Year and should be able to get this offense on track as the Shock proceed through their season. Davonte Sapp-Lynch (Marshawn's kid brother) is always a force at the running back position and is among the league leaders at his position. Sapp-Lynch is also a receiving option out of the backfield. Kamrin Solomon and Troy Evans, Jr. are the main threats out of the backfield, and Jordan Jolly should also fit into the mix. Mike Green, Cedric Poole, T.J. Neal and Dominic Sanders are players to look out for during the game on the defensive side of the ball. Sawyer Petre is a top-notch kicker in the IFL.
WRANGLERS
The expansion Wranglers have head their early difficulties this season, back at home, they look to pick up their first win in franchise history over the Shock. Like Spokane, the Wranglers are coming off a bye week and will strive to retool the game plan to meet the Shock, which have struggled on offense at times through their two games. Verlon Reed, Jr., the 2017 IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles, started the opener at quarterback, but it's likely rookie Caden Walters, who has been promising during the time in which he has seen the field. Walters is also a threat on the ground. Former Quad City Steamwheeler Keyvan Rudd is the leader of the receiving group. Also look for Marquis Johnson and Daron Clark to get some targets in this one. Clark also may figure into the return game for the Wranglers. Northern Arizona has a load of young and talented defenders, including Emmanuel Lacey and Mica Eugene, Jr. Tim Parker is on to take care of the kicking duties.
