Storm 64, Bucks 28
6/5/21 --
BISMARCK, ND - The Sioux Falls Storm rushed out to a 49-21 halftime lead and never looked back as they invaded their neighbors to the north and came away with a 64-28 win tonight at Bismarck Event Center.
The win lifted Sioux Falls to a 3-1 overall record, while the Bucks fell to .500 at 3-3. The teams play once more, on June 26 at Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls used a combination of both their quarterbacks in the game. Veteran Lorenzo Brown, Jr. ran much of the offense, while Tommy Armstrong, Jr. did some damage on the ground. Brown is a three-time IFL United Bowl champion with the Storm. Armstrong won IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2019 while with the now-defunct Nebraska Danger.
The score was 14-7 at the end of the opening quarter before the Storm exploded for 35 second-quarter points. Sioux Falls outscored the Bucks in the second half, 15-7.
Brown completed nine of 14 passes for 123 yards with a touchdown. Armstrong completed two of three passes -- both going for touchdowns. He also rushed seven times for 42 yards and two scores. Brown also ran for a score. Damian Ford caught five passes for 48 yards along with a pair of scoring grabs. Reid Harrison recorded six tackles and Trey Wafford had an interception for the Storm defense.
Glen Guiellette went 11 of 22 for 116 yards with four touchdowns and an interception, while Raheem Harvey caught two passes for 40 yards and a score. All four of Cuiellette's touchdowns were caught by different receivers. Kiante Goudeau and Darreon Jackson led the Bucks defense with six and five touchdowns, respectively.
The Storm will host the Spokane Shock on June 12 at 5:05 p.m. The Bucks are back in action on June 12 at home against the Iowa Barnstormers with a 4:05 p.m. kickoff. All times listed are pacific daylight time. Click for the SCtoC 2021 Indoor Football League schedule.
