Shock 50, Storm 32
6/12/21 --
SIOUX FALLS, SD - For the first time ever, an indoor football team from Spokane has taken down the Indoor Football League powerhouse Sioux Falls Storm.
The Spokane Shock outscored the Storm 19-9 to ensure their third straight win on the IFL season. The Shock move to 3-1 on the young season while the Storm fall to 3-2 on the young season. The Storm continually fought to overcome an early narrow deficit, but the Shock had an answer each time. Spokane's win snaps a three-game winning streak of the Storm, and the win comes in front of the Storm's home crowd.
While this incarnation of the Shock and the Storm have never met, Sioux Falls held an overall 4-0 advantage over the Spokane Empire from 2016 to 2017. That includes the United Bowl in 2016. Spokane will host Sioux Falls on July 10 in the second and final meeting between the teams.
Charles McCullum had his best outing of the season this far, completing 19 of 24 throws with four touchdowns; two to Kamrin Solomon. Running back Davonte Sapp-Lynch scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground for the Shock.
The Shock will host the Northern Arizona Wranglers on June 19 at 7:05 p.m. The Storm will visit the Iowa Barnstormers on June 19 at 5:05 p.m. All times listed are pacific daylight time. Click for the SCtoC 2021 Indoor Football League schedule.
