Breakdown
BUCKS
Bismarck seems to be back on track after its win over the Frisco Fighters last week. The win over the league's second-best team comes after the Bucks lost two straight to the Sioux Falls Storm and the Massachusetts Pirates. The Bucks are having their best IFL season, but with a few hiccups. They visit the Sugar Skulls for the third time in history and are looking for their first win against the 'Skulls from southern Arizona. Three weeks ago, the Bucks went through a major overhaul at the quarterback position, adding Caleb Lewis and Kelly Bryant. Lewis is the passer of the two and is completing 55 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and an interception. Bryant is rushing for 43.5 yards per game and has tossed a pass for a touchdown. Justin Rankin rushes for 34 yards a game with 13 scores. J.T. Stokes leads the receivers with 514 yards and 13 touchdowns. Raheem Harvey and Mike Carrigan will see targets from either quarterback. Darreon Jackson and Deion Carter have 53 and 49 tackles, respectively, and Zuril Hendrick has picked off three passes.
SUGAR SKULLS
The window on the Tucson's bid for a playoff spot seems to be closing on a weekly basis. The Sugar Skulls need to put together a run in the last five games of the season and there could be a couple of winnable games along the way in the Northern Arizona Wranglers and The Duke City Gladiators. Both of the Sugar Skulls wins this season have been over the Gladiators. The Wranglers' lone win of the season came two weeks ago over the Sugar Skulls. They'll have a harder time against a Bucks' team which is already in playoff position and would love nothing more than to improve that. Demry Croft has been the starter at quarterback since the season opener. He is a dual threat player who can make the big play at any time. Mike Jones is a top rusher in the league who is a bruising back with a nose for the end zone. At receiver, Ryan Balentine is the best receiver in IFL history. Jazeric Peterson an excellent compliment to Balentine. Delondo Boyd and Matt Elam have led the defense all season. Terrance Fullum and Chris Martin provide Tucson's potent pass rush.
