The following is the schedule for the NFL playoffs on the road to Super Bowl LVI.
The defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hoping to repeat as Super Bowl champions, though they will have to do so without some of their key playmakers who are out due to injury. The Bucs and Green Bay Packers finished with identical 13-4 records with the Packers gaining the top seed in the NFC due to the NFL's tiebreakers. The Dallas Cowboys have the third seed and the Los Angeles Rams the fourth. Rounding out the playoff entries are the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
In the AFC things were pretty tight, with the Tennessee Titans gaining the conference's top seed. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are in at number two, while the Buffalo Bills are the third seed and the Cincinnati Bengals are the fourth. All four teams are the winners of their respective divisions. The wild card spots are filled by the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Raiders and Steelers did not earn their postseason bids until the final week of the regular season; with both winning their respective games in overtime.
The league expanded the schedule this season, going from 16 games to 17. It was the first schedule expansion in 43 years, 1978, when it went from 14 to 16 games. For the second season, the NFL's playoff field consists of 14 teams (seven from each conference) with the top seed in each conference receiving a first-round bye.
Represented in this year's playoff field are the past five Super Bowl Champions; Patriots (LI and LIII), Eagles (LII), Chiefs (LIV) and Buccaneers (LV). The following are the records in the Super Bowl by this year's playoff teams, ranked by winning percentage:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 2-0 (1.000)
