Breakdown

PIRATES
Massachusetts is on a quest to repeat as IFL champions and they're certainly on the right track. With a 2-0 record heading into the Pirates' third game, the pieces seem to be in place as they are one of only two undefeated teams left in the league (the other being the Arizona Rattlers). They sit atop the Eastern Conference with no fewer than four teams nipping at their heels just a half-game out. Alejandro Bennifield, MVP of the 2021 United Bowl, is back to championship form, having completed 55 percent of his passes for 251 yards with five touchdowns and a single pick. He also has rushed for 51 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Martez Carter is the lead back with his 4.9 yards-per-carry off 81 yards and a score. Thomas Owens leads the receiving group with seven catches for 103 yards and three scoring grabs. Isaac Zico has 53 receiving yards and Dontez Byrd comes in with a pair of touchdown grabs. Chucky Williams and Harlan miller lead a stout Pirates' defense. Khalid Wooten is also a player to watch on the defensive side of the ball, and Aarion Maxey-Penton has two interceptions. Jimmy Camacho is as solid as they come in the IFL in the kicking game.

BUCKS
Bismarck is already in the hunt for a return to the playoffs, but the caveat may be that the Bucks' two wins of the season have come over the same team; the Green Bay Blizzard. While not decisive in either case, they earned their sixth straight win over the Blizzard. The Bucks came within two points in their loss to the Sioux Falls Storm three weeks ago, which is a sign that they can be competitive among the better of IFL competition. Jayru Campbell and Tahj Tolbert have both seen time at quarterback, with similar passing results. Campbell has thrown for 189 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions, while Tolbert has 182 yards through the air with four scores and two picks. Campbell leads the team in rushing with 97 yards and a pair of trips to the end zone. Benjamin Glines is the team's leading receiver with 12 grabs for 109 yards and a touchdown John Brunner comes in with three touchdown catches. Jordan Semanat, Romon Morris and patrick Macon lead the Bucks' defense. Semanat leads the defense with three pass break ups. Chase Allbaugh is a solid kicker who is capable of making a deciding kick in late-game situations.
