The following is a listing of the playoff schedule & results for the 2021-22 Portland Winterhawks. Portland finished the regular season with a 47-16-3-2 record, which ranked 2nd in the U.S. Division and 3rd overall in the Western Conference.
Due to the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 WHL Playoffs were cancelled, but with the 2022 playoffs in full swing, Portland returns to the playoffs after three years. In their last playoff run (2019), Portland was eliminated in 5 games to the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Portland looks to advance past the Western Conference Semifinals for the first time since the 2015 WHL Playoffs.
Portland takes on the Prince George Cougars in the first round of the 2022 WHL Playoffs. The last time Portland faced Prince George in the playoffs was in the 2017 Western Conference Quarterfinals with Portland winning the series in six games. Portland leads the all-time series meetings in the WHL Playoffs 2-1, having also defeated Prince George in six games in the 2000 Western Conference Quarterfinals. The Cougars' lone playoff series win came in the 1997 Western Conference Quarterfinals, defeating Portland in six games.
