What do you guys think SHOULD the Blazers do during this offseason?
For me:
1. Strengthen core group, and add depth at the bench (preferably a veteran presence). 2. Improve defense.
Suggested transactions:
1. The Kings just put their 8th pick on the block because they want a veteran presence. Would it make sense if we sign-and-trade Mo, and include someone on the package so that we could get their pick and possibly draft Doug McDermott?

i think the core group is in good shape. they need more consistent support. the team likely will be able to afford two veterans through free agency -- or one that might be able to make a strong contribution. if the Kings would agree to a three-year deal with Mo in a sign-and-trade, your idea may work. Mo wants a three-year contract so i think that's what it would take.
as for the jerseys, those are all right. that's not something which i would address. the current ones are pretty cool.

I'm pretty high on Doug McDermott. Guy'is a scorer, which we need off the bench. I'm wondering why he's not on the Top 5. I guess he has a making of becoming the forst one to win both SMOY and ROY awards.
Also, we need an assistant coach who could address the team's needs at defense. Someone who could utilize our players' abilities, or lack thereof, on the other end of the floor, without making the team feel tight on the offensive end. With the way the team is going now, it's like the Wizards of the Gilbert Arenas Era where the best way to win is to outscore the opponent.

I would like to see us develop our younger guys over the off season and make additions through free agency. We have a young team and guys like T-Rob, Barton and McCollum need to be developed. I also hope that Freeland takes another jump forward like he did last summer. I really thought he was reliable early in the season and could be a huge asset to us.

I agree that we need to bolster the bench. I'd say the problem is that Stotts doesn't trust his bench guys enough to play them which is why the starters end up playing so many minutes. Hopefully Freeland makes another jump like he did last summer and I know Wright has another year on his contract. It looks like from what Olshey and Stotts said that Barton already has his roster spot secured. It would be great to being back Williams, Watson will probably retire to get into coaching, McCollum probably won't go anywhere unless it's part of a trade, Robinson will be here and I'm not sure why we traded for Crabbe if all we're going to do is let him sit on the bench in a suit. I like Leonard, but I don't see him as a Blazer next season.
