Breakdown
WRANGLERS
Northern Arizona is locked into the second spot in the Western Conference. Given their playoff positioning is not subject to change, it could determine how head coach Les Moss approaches this one. It's a question whether to go all out to keep the momentum going, or to save some players for round one by resting some of the regulars. At this point, only Moss knows. They score 41.5 points per game (sixth) and allow a league-best 29.8. Kaleb Barker has started 14 out of the teams 15 games this season. He is completing 57 percent of his throws for 1,871 yards with 38 touchdowns and 12 picks. He rushes for 45.6 points per game. to go with 14 touchdowns. Israel Tucker has 263 yards and nine touchdowns. Quinton Randolph leads the team with 39 catches for 523 yards with 13 touchdowns. Jerrime Neal adds eight touchdowns in eight games. The defense is paced by Darin Hungerford's 53 tackles and 5.5 sacks from Darin Hungerford. He also has 12 tackles for loss and an interception. Atkins adds three interceptions and Trae Meadows has 41 tackles. Brandon Fischer returns after missing week 18 with an injury.
GLADIATORS
Duke City has already clinched a playoff spot, but playoff positioning is up for grabs. Should the Gladiators win and the Tucson Sugar Skulls lose to the Bay Area Panthers (the games take place nearly simultaneously), they clinch the third seed. In any other scenario, they end up fourth. Third means they visit the Wranglers in the opening round and fourth means a visit to the Arizona Rattlers. Ramone Atkins is second to the Rattlers' Drew Powell with 2,160 passing yards and tops in the IFL with 50 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while playing three fewer games than Powell. He has 326 yards and 15 touchdowns. Devonte Jackson adds 313 yards and 10 scores on the ground. Stud receiver Dello Davis was released this week, so the mantel falls on Jared Elmore, who is fourth in yards with 744 and adds a team-high 19 touchdowns to lead the receiviers. Byron Cooper leads the defense with 70.5 tackles and eight sacks. Jayson Serda has 67.5 tackles and five sacks. Each has 18 tackles for loss. Dexter Reese comes in with 47 takedowns and a team-high three interceptions. Kevin Goessling handles the kicking duties.
