Overview
The following is the 2022-23 schedule for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Portland enters its 53rd season in the National Basketball Association. The season features a regular 82-game schedule where the Blazers play each team in their Northwest Division (Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz) four times and each team from the Eastern Conference twice in equal home-and-away series. They play the six of the other teams in the Western Conference four times, but play the remaining three (Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, and Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets) just three times.
The Blazers have 14 back-to-backs this season, including twice where they play both games against the Phoenix Suns (November 4-5) at Phoenix, and the Dallas Mavericks (January 14-15) at Portland. They also play consecutive games twice against the Minnesota Timberwolves (December 10 and 12) at Portland, and the Oklahoma City Thunder (December 19 and 21) at Oklahoma City. This is a recent NBA scheduling trend added to cut down on travel days and mileage. There are a trio of six-game road trips. Most are to Eastern conference teams, but with some Western Conference teams mixed in, generally at the front or tail end of those respective road trips. Portland has a pair of five-game home stands; one in February and the other in March. Late January is a home feast for Blazers fans with 10 of their last 11 games of the month coming at home. That includes a six-game homestand, the longest of the season, from the 19th through the 30th.
Portland, interestingly, plays only once on a major holiday this season; the season finale at home against the Golden State Warriors on April 9. The Blazers are off on Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. However, they will in the midst of a four-game Eastern Conference road trip during the Thanksgiving holiday; likely in New York City. They open the season on the road against the Sacramento Kings on October 19 with their home opener coming two days later on the 29th against the Phoenix Suns. The schedule is fairly road-havy during the first portion of the season and home-friendly during the second portion. The yearly and monthly breakdown of home and road games appears below:
The Blazers play their home games at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in northeast Portland. For this schedule, all times are pacific time. Local broadcasts of Blazers games in 2022-23 will be Broadcast live on ROOT Sports or ROOT Sports Plus, which will be available in the pacific northwest and Alaska. All games noted in the schedule will be televised on ROOT Sports, unless noted that a game will be televised on Root Sports Plus, ESPN or TNT. There are two games scheduled for ESPN and one on TNT. The TNT broadcast is the only game of the season which will not be broadcast on ROOT's channels. The Blazers also have contracted for streaming games on Evoca TV, which is a streaming service costing subscribers $25 per month and an additional cost for its streaming equipment.
