On Tulsa's next drive, Bobby Froehlich's pass into the end zone was tipped and intercepted by Daquawn Brown of the Gladiators. Tulsa's Eric Sadler recovered Dalton James' fumble to give the Oilers the ball right back. The Oilers got on the board with a 20-yard field goal from Jeremy Reynolds. Duke City increased their lead on Davis' six-yard touchdown to Brown with 2:32 left in the quarter. The Oilers came right back on Froehlich's 21-yard touchdown to King down the left sideline. They added the two-point conversion when King rushed around the right side and reached the ball over the goal line. Duke City led 40-28 after three quarters.
