Pirates 49, Knight Hawks 28

WORCESTER, MA - Jimmie Robinson rushed for 107 yards and five touchdowns, and the Massachusetts Pirates outscored the visiting Vegas Knight Hawks 26-7 in the second half as they held off the visitors, 49-28, tonight at DCU Center.
Massachusetts moves to 8-3 on the season and into second place in the IFL's Eastern Conference standings. The Pirates are nipping at the heels of the Frisco Fighters for the top spot in the conference. The Fighters' game at the Sioux Falls Storm was ongoing at this time of the writing. The top four seeds in each conference make the playoffs and the top two will earn home field advantage in the opening round.
The Knight Hawks fell to 4-7 and into last in the Western Conference. This is the only meeting between the teams this season. The overall series is now tied, 1-1, with both games having been played at Worcester. The Pirates have now won four straight on the season.
Anthony Russo finished eight of 15 for 132 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Pirates. Robinson's 107 yards came off 13 carries. He also had one catch for nine yards. Darren Carrington II caught three passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. Leon O'Neal, Jr. and Stephen Roberts each recorded nine tackles. Roberts and Kiante Northington each had an interception, and Terrence Smith and Lore Hernandez had a sack apiece.
Joe Mancuso got the start for the Knight Hawks and completed 16 of 26 passes for 176 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. He also rushed for a touchdown. Davonte Sapp-Lynch rushed for 53 yards, while Johnathan Johnson caught four passes for 71 yards and a score. Quinten Randolph and Caleb Holley each caught five balls for 53 and 41 yards, respectively. Each had a touchdown grab. Zachary Hannibal led the defense with six tackles. Gabriel McCoy and D'Darrin Primes each had sacks, and Kalen Hicks had an interception.
Vegas gained 234 yards to 228 for Massachusetts. The Knight Hawks had an advantage of 48 yards in the passing game, but the Pirates held a 42-yard edge in the rushing attack. Each team was penalized eight times, the Pirates for 94 yards and the Knight Hawks for 64 yards.
