Barnstormers 48, Oilers 40

TULSA, OK - Playing for pride, the Iowa Barnstormers flew into Tulsa and came away with a 48-40 win over the Oilers in a battle of 1-9 teams tonight at the BOK Center.
The Barnstormers avenged their April 22 loss to the expansion Oilers with the win, and moved to a 2-9 mark on the season. Iowa is mathematically still in the playoff race, though a heavy multitude of things would have to happen. The Oilers, who fell to 1-10 with the loss, are eliminated from playoff contention. Each team has won an away game in the series.
Daniel Smith, seeing his first action for the Barnstormers this season, finished 16 of 24 for 198 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 33 yards. Antonio Wimbush rushed 14 times for 36 yards and a pair of scores, and led the receiving group with six receptions for 76 yards and a score. Dom McNeil had two catches for 46 yards and a touchdown, and Caleb Smith finished with 41 yards off five catches for 41 yards and two scores. Dameon Willis led the Iowa defense with eight tackles. Christopher Robinson had a sack and Jadarius Byrd posted an interception.
Sale, starting his second game for the Oilers, went 24 of 38 for 218 yards with five touchdowns and an interception. Johnathan Nance caught six of those passes for 60 yards and three scores. Montero DuBose added six grabs for 55 yards and Alexis Rosario had five receptions for 47 yards. Both caught a touchdown pass. Tre Harvey's 11 tackles led the Tulsa defense and Henry Kellogg had a sack. Jordan Jones tallied nine tackles and now leads the IFL with 77 on the season.
Iowa gained 289 yards of total offense compared to 226 for Tulsa. The Barnstormers had an edge of 84 yards rushing, while the Oilers had a 20-yard advantage in receiving yards. The Barnstormers were penalized 14 times for 107 yards, while the oilers were flagged 10 times for 55 yards.
