The Massachusetts Pirates will be announcing their future home next week, but a key member from the 2023 squad will be on the move. The team posted on X yesterday, congratulating running back Jimmie Robinson on earning a contract with the New Orleans Breakers, members of the yet-to-be-named merged spring league between the USFL and XFL. Robinson, who played his college ball at Bethune-Cookman, put in a sterling rookie season in the IFL with the Pirates a season ago, leading the league with 915 yards gained on the ground and finding paydirt for 28 touchdowns, which was second in the IFL. He also made his presence felt as a receiver out of the backfield, as well as serving as a high-impact kickoff return man at various points in the season. He joins a long list of former Pirates players who have parlayed their success in the Bay State into an opportunity in a larger league. The full list of player can be found here for anybody curious.

That's a really good signing for the Breakers. I wish him well after the year he had for the Pirates.
