What is the biggest lead blown in the IFL, any game (playoff or season)?
GBB Blew 18 points to MAP this last week. The number in the NAL was 21 or 22.
When the game is turning into a blowout, we all hear things like, "It's indoor football, things can turn around real quick, wilder things have happened", etc.
I call this 'wish-casting.' I try hard to not do it.
I want to be able to say, "At this point they would need an historic comeback, (as big as/bigger than) the comeback by x over y in 20XX." Can you help me?

I want to say it's in the 30s, but I'm not totally sure. David Do you know where to find out that kind of thing?

Since the league record and fact book (the only one I could find was from 2019) wasn't helpful. The only one I was able to come up with was from last year.
- 2023 Playoffs: Massachusetts @ Sioux Falls (17 points at half, 18 points largest lead) - Mass had a 17-0 lead at halftime, and at one point during the 4th Quarter had a 39-21 lead (18 points) with 12:25 left in the game. Sioux Falls won 42-39.
There's a decent number of 17, 16 point comebacks, but this was the largest I could find.

So I will be able to say, "To the best of MY knowledge, an 18 point deficit is the biggest one overcome."
Huh. You'd think in 15 years...
If anything changes, please let me know.

For what it's worth, it might not apply specifically to the IFL, but I have seen in the AFL 2.0 (2010-2019) days where the Orlando Predators blew a 31-point lead and lost in OT to the Pittsburgh Power in a 2012 game. Of course, you could always default to the mainstream NFL and mention the Vikings' 33-point comeback over Indy in 2023!

I'm trying to stay league and game specific. I honestly expected the number to be greater than 18 given the number of years the league has existed.
The number in the NAL was 22. My mind has the game likely beyond reach when you are behind by three possessions.

So I will be able to say, "To the best of MY knowledge, an 18 point deficit is the biggest one overcome." Huh. You'd think in 15 years... If anything changes, please let me know. I did some more digging (which, sucks, because even when you google "Indoor Football League biggest comeback" it still redirects you to Arena Football League games). I found a 20 point lead that was squandered last year (I forgot about this game). Sioux Falls was down 27-7 with 0:07 left in the 2nd quarter of the 2023 Eastern Conference Championship. Sioux Falls won the game 45-44 ( click here to view the box score of scoring) That said, one thing to keep in mind about the Indoor League is... the historical archive isn't the most well kept. IFL, NAL, CIF, leagues of those caliber never have had the best track record of keeping historical records. Most of what we've had to piece together over the years was through the IFL Media Guides (which they don't publish anymore), whatever efforts were done on Wikipedia, or what lucky breaks you can get from Wayback Machine. If I had access to the prior years media guides it might be in there. Unfortunately the only one accessible is the 2019 one (again, via Wayback Machine) and it doesn't have that specific factoid. Even with the IFL trying to make things more professional, it's still a pain to find any prior season stats. Even then, the stats can be flawed or not update properly. Sadly, these indoor leagues didn't have records kept as extensively as ArenaFan did with the AFL. Even then, ArenaFan didn't archive a ton of stats about the af2/arenafootball2.

That was "The Great Frisco Flop"!!!
Or is there a better name that should be given?
Along with Arizona's near come from behind, it was the unsurprising surprise of the '23 playoffs.
