The Fighters (1-0) overcame a 25-10 deficit in the third quarter to defeat their Red River rival and win their 13th straight regular season home game.
Frisco took the lead in the first quarter on an Edwards 15 yard touchdown run, but the Oilers (0-1) scored nineteen straight points to take a twelve point lead.

He scored on a quarterback keeper to bring the Fighters within eight, then the Fighters defense stopped the Oilers on Fourth and Goal.
Frisco took the ball and Edwards scored on another rushing touchdown, then found an open receiver in the end zone for a successful two point conversion.
The Oilers had a chance to win the game in regulation with a field goal, but Tulsa was unable to call a timeout before the clock reached triple zero.
The Fighters won the toss and chose to play defense, and Jalaan Owens intercepted Oilers quarterback Daniel Smith to give the Fighters a chance to win the game on their first overtime possession.
